Rent a stroller..... or bring your own?
| Thu, 04-19-2007 - 1:44pm |
We are going to Disney in a few weeks... and I am leaning toward bringing my double stroller (duo-glider) becuase I love it and it has so much space to store things. Our girls are 3 and 1.
What have people found re: bringing their own stroller vs. renting one? What are the strollers like that your rent? Do they have alot of space to store diaper bags, etc...?
Thx. so much.

If you love your stroller, BRING it!
No storage - just a little bag on the back like on umbrella strollers
really not suitable for anyone under the age of 2
you won't have a stroller at your resort
you won't have a stroller at the airport
here's an FAQ with some pictures http://www.allearsnet.com/pl/strol_faq.htm
For the age of your kids, bring your own.
I agree with bringing your own for your kids' ages.

I, too, am all for bringing your own stroller, especially for younger kids. I only wanted to point out that a large stroller, such as a double, can be quite difficult to manage on the buses. I don't know your situation, though. We brought a large stroller and an umbrella for our 2 boys, but we were traveling with my parents. So, they took the kids while DH and I took the strollers. If you are staying off site, it won't be an issue at all. I am not saying that it will be impossible to manage a double on the bus, but it will be difficult especially if you don't have any other adults with you. I just wanted you to be well informed :) Have a great trip!

You can't walk to the MK, you have to walk or tram to the TTC and then board a boat or monorail, and depending on where you're located in the parking lots for the other parks you may have to tram there also. The parking lot trams are like long golf carts - open sides with a top and narrow seats - most adults find their knees touching or almost touching the seat in front of them. So a little preperation will go a long way with the parking lot trams and the strollers.
I can't remember which one you said you had, if it was a side by side or a tandem front/back. If it's a side by side, I had no problem sitting with one of my girls on my lap and the stroller in front of me since it folds so thin. A front/back would take up the whole leg space between the seats so since kids have to be on the inside I'd put one of them on the seat and the stroller in front of them, sibling on the other side and mom & dad on the outside.
All children must be out of the strollers and the strollers folded to board the tram, so pack light, a backpack does well. You can fit what you need and it easily goes over the shoulders for tram boarding and other times when you can't have the stroller, like in line or show buildings. put everything in your backpack in ziploc bags so security can easily search your bag.
