September or February?

I'm trying to plan our next Disney trip and need some input from the pros;) I've been to Disney several times and DH and I went on our honeymoon(May) and we took DD#1 in Sept 2005 when she was just shy of 3(still free!). Sept was a wonderful trip with a almost non-existant crowd so DH has now decided that Sept is the only time we can go to Disney.

I'm trying to decide if we should go Sept 2008(DD#1 will be just shy of 6 and DD#2 will have just turned 2) or in Feb 2009(6 and 2.5 yos) Might be able to talk Dh into Feb 08 but I doubt it. I think cooler weather and less rain would be nice as well as the Princess party if they keep that going. What is the weather like in February? Are the crowds just as light? We would be going during DDs school break which is usually the 3rd week of February(president's week). Is September usually much less crowded then that week of February?

Thanks for any insight!

Well I guess everyone who has a magical trip thinks the time they went was the PERFECT time because we've gone in Nov. twice and can't imagine going any other time. LOL! :) The weather was more than perfect. Around 82 everyday and no rain. It rained for about an hour on ONE afternoon and we ate lunch and went to a show during that time. It didn't dampen (ha) our spirits at all. And we walked (literally) to rides we'd gotten fast passes for and NEVER waited in a line that took us more than 30 minutes and that was on the long side. It was great!

So Feb or Sept you ask? I say November. :)

I vote for February. September was so hot (2006). And that was the last week. We have also gone the last week of October...still HOT. I went in February back a loooooonnnng time ago (I was 13). The weather was really nice. I remember all of the natives wearing parkas...us being from WI were wearing shorts. From what I remember the weather was nice.

We are trying November this year. Have also done first week in April. The crowds were light and the weather was nice. I think that week it was the week after the week after Easter (did you get that?)

I would go in September, IMO. You are still able to swim and the crowds are low, plus it is value season. In February, there are a lot of snowbirds here and several schools start their winter break then. In February, we have also run into large groups from cheerleading and band competitions that make trips to Disney while they are here. You are not going to want to swim in February and we have actually had temp's in the 20's this week and high's in the 40's and 50's.

Whenever you go you will have a great time though-

I've never been in February, but I have to say that I was talking to a friend of mine last night, and two weeks ago they booked a short (3 day) trip to Disney and are leaving this coming Thursday. She said that there was hardly a room to be had. The only thing they could get was a room at Saratoga Springs. Now, granted, they only booked at the last minute, but that just tells you that the resorts are at capacity.

I'd think that alot of schools have Spring Break during President's Week....so I think I'd go with September. We've been in September/October, May and June, and so far, we've enjoyed May the best.

I'd pick September. DH and I went the first week of Feb this year (this month too, lol!) and it was ccoooolllllddd! I wore my winter coat (we're from Ohio, btw) and gloves every day except the first and last, and I was cold the days I didn't wear it. Crowds weren't horrible, but they were higher than I had expected. There were also dance competitions going on, and dancers all over. They didn't bother us, they weren't staying at our resort, but it was there. The weekend after we left, it was cheerleading competitions.

We've been in Sept, and while it was still fairly hot, it wasn't sweltering, except at AK.

Thank you everyone for your help! After price comparing, we will be going in September. It is $1000 cheaper in Sept then Feb for us. We know we will have a great time in Sept since we've gone before at that time. Someone asked about my dd being in school. Her school has a week off in Sept(Fall break) and a week off in Feb(Winter break) so that is the reason we were considering those 2 months.

Thanks again!
