Main street is pretty bad about flooding too. There are deep puddles near the curbs. What do little kids do with puddles:? yep they splash in them. Does this make tourists happy? No it doesn't. Especially when they think they are going to melt in the rain anyways and are irritated that Mother Nature had the audacity to rain on their parade during their vacation, doesn't she realize how much they spent on this vacation? Not that I have any expeirance with my kid accidently splashing some poor other tourist after the daily shower in the Florida summer....

Our July 4 trip had lighter crowds (for the most part) than any of our more recent trips including Feb, March, and May. The ONLY crowd issue we had was leaving the park on July 4. The monorail line was backed up into the park, and the ferry line was pretty heavy. Some dummy cast member was hollering out "little or no wait for bus to TTC" and my dummy husband BELIEVED him!! Our little or no wait was 45 minutes long (longer than any line we had waited in for an attraction on the entire trip). We would have been on the ferry in half that time.

The reason was because of the "local" traffic for the fireworks. So a lot of people were just there for the day and parked in the TTC. A bus to another park or the resort (this is the only time in all the times we've stayed on-site we actually regretted driving to the parks ourselves) would have been much quicker. I think walking to the Contemporary then taking the monorail from there would have been quicker too, but we were tired..lol.

Oh, and we didn't ride a Disney bus to the TTC, we rode a charter bus.

It did drizzle the entire trip, very little dry time. I'm sure that had some effect on the crowds, but if you pay that much money to go to Disney, you GO to Disney, rain or shine...it didn't flood either (we've been when it was flooded, which happens quickly at Epcot).
