Last time I went to Orlando, we stayed at a hotel that was not a Disney resort but I *think* it was on Disney property. It was on this long road that came out to a lighted intersection that took you back off Disney property. There were LOTS and LOTS of hotels on this long road. It think there were these white buses with DISNEY on the side that would stop at many of these hotels. I *think* that Downtown Disney and Planet Hollywood were on this same road...but not sure. I thought it was "International Booulevard" but now I am not so sure. Does anyone have any idea of what/where I am talking about? Feeling lost and needing help! LOL! Thanks!

There are some *regular* resorts/hotels in Downtown Disney, like the Doubletree guest suites etc. They used to all get Disney resort perks and now only some of them do and of the ones that do they only get some of the perks. But it's across from DtD and if you went all the way to the light you're across from Crossroads

The road you're talking about is International Drive. :)

After talking with my aunt (who went with us the last time), I found out it is on Hotel Plaza Blvd. That come off 535 (I think) and is "on" Disney property but it's not the Disney resorts. Anyway, we stayed at the Best Western Lake Buena Vista and it was nice. They have free Disney shuttles and a restaurant in the hotel (which is convenient). We are currently working on getting the rates to stay there. Thanks for the info!

PS...I think that International Blvd is the one that runs over near Universal Studios....it also had a ton of hotels.

Oh ok, well I'm glad you found the info you needed. Just FYI, if the hotel you're looking into doesn't work out for any reason, we really liked the hotel we stayed at. It's the Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort on 535. The website is www.kidsuites.com. They also had free shuttles to Disney and a restaurant in the hotel where kids under 12 eat free! Just thought I'd mention this.

Missy,

Could you be thinking of the Downtown Disney Resort Area Hotels? These hotels are on Disney property, but are not Disney owned.

Here is a list of the hotels in that area:

(Names taken from the Walt Disney Travel Company 2003 Florida Vacations book)

Best Western Lake Buena Vista Resort Hotel

Grosvenor Resort

Courtyard by Marriott

Hotel Royal Plaza

The Hilton Resort

Doubletree Guest Suites Resort

Wyndham Palace Resort and Spa

HTH!

YEP THAT'S THEM! Thanks for the info. We decided to go with the Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista. It's on Palm Pkwy just up from that Hotel Plaza intersection. It has a kid suite with their own TV and such and has an in-hotel restaurant where kids-eat-free. They also had a FL resident discount so we got it even cheaper. They also offer shuttles to all the attractions....tho I doubt we'll use those. Now I am just so excited! Hoping to see if Disney will announce any October/Fall ticket discounts soon. I tried to check earlier and the page wouldn't load so I hope that means they are updating it. I can't wait! YAY!

Thanks to everyone for all the great info! This is a wonderful site with lots of smart ladies! Have fun planning!
