Starting from SQ 1 again on trip (OMG).

I'm so bummed with DH right now. He told me last night we are going to have to replan going to Disney in Feb 2007 to a later date! OMG no way I'm thinking! (Luckily I didn't make Reservations or ADR's yet, was on the list to do that this weekend)But DH pointed out that with the fuel costs this winter we are definately going to have to move the vacation (we live in upstate NY). . . so I'm back to square one with planning.

I've read everyone's trip reports and they have been wonderful thank you for posting them. But since I have to think about new times. What are some good times to go to Disney? Some of the trip reports during the summer sounded like it wasn't that bad with crowds?? Thinking maybe in end of June/July time frame or possibly even pulling the kids out of school in october/nov?

I would really appreciate any and all help I'm so bummed right now about this and I'm thanking my lucky stars that I didn't tell the kids yet about the trip. :(

TIA
Julie

:-( I know that feeling all to well.

About crowd levels - They really depend on what you are used to or expect. I thought the parks were extremely crowded when I was there most recently (Aug 17-20). I also found them pretty darn crowded in July 02. Both of those summer trips I have read reports of people there at the same time (occasionally the same park on the same day, but not often) and they didn't find the crowds bad at all. I'm used to traveling in early December, that's about as crowded as my dh can handle. We went in early May one year and I didn't think it was bad, it was more crowded than Dec for sure, but still didn't think it was bad - my dh did. Same with last year, we went later in Dec, closer to Christmas and it was definately more crowded than the beginning of the week, but the only place I found unbearably crowded was Down Town Disney on Saturday.

Hi, Julie! I just wanted to say that I am in Upstate NY too :-) in Watertown. I was wondering where about you are? Upstate can mean hundreds of miles of towns, etc.

Sorry you have to move your trip. Yeah, the fuel costs are insane!!

Hey Melissa!
That's too funny. We live below Syracuse in a town called Whitney Point.

Ah, I know it! When I drive "home" to NJ I use that great fairly new Tourist Center (I don't know what to call it, lol) off of 81 around exit 9. We are up here because DH is stationed at Fort Drum. Getting ready for the snow, are you? With DH in Afghanistan I am NOT looking forward to another winter alone to shovel :-(

I hate snow shoveling and avoid it at all costs! That's why my teenage boys do it LOL
Yip I do know the exit with the welcome center on 81. Never stop there, go figure right. you DH will be home soon according to the ticker in your signature, of course it will be half way through the winter season though! LOL
But your right not looking forward to the snow, hence why with the highly anticipated trip to Disney Feb school break. I'm just hoping for a mild/moderate winter like last year,That would be nice. With the fuel costs here in NY it's going to be a tight winter so will postpone that trip until a better time. What a bummer too since I haven't been there since 1985! I was so looking forward to going in a couple months.

I know how you feel, we have a trip planned for end of Jan, but between my DH's slow recovery from his knee/shoulder injusry and the fact that he is now on short term disability from work because of it we are now looking at having to postpone or even cancell altogether our trip.

I am still hanging out till the beginning of DEcember before I do actually cancel - you never know; miracles do happen!
