We are a family of 7, with older kids 9 and older, and one baby... 13 mo. old.
We are trying to decide what would be our best option for the baby at the parks, He really doesn't like being in a stroller, but

Wagons are not allowed in the Disney parks.
(neither are rolling bags, coolers or anything that is pulled, heelies, roller skates, bicycles, glass bottles
Thank you for all of your responses. You have been very
You still have to pay the toll/parking fee at Epcot to get to the monorail. Each parking lot has a toll booth that collects the parking fees. All further transportation is inside of those booths. If you're going to be spending the day at the MK and not hopping anywhere I don't see any advantage to parking at Epcot. Especially if you happen to be at the MK on a rare night it closes after Epcot.
At each park you'll go through the toll booth to pay your parking fee, then you'll follow the cones and the CMs waving their arms to direct you to where you need to park. Depending on what time you get there and what lot they are filling (it rotates) you may still have to get on a parking lot tram to get to the front of the park (where the monorail is at Epcot) to get in or to the TTC where you catch a ferry or monorail to MK.
Are you staying on-site? If so, you don't have to pay for parking at all at Disney.
We were not going to drive to Epcot, we were going to take a bus/shuttle from our resort, which is very close to there.(Non-Disney property/timeshare.)
That way we could avoid parking fees. The only night MK is open later than Epcot is our second night there when MK is open till midnight, and Epcot is open -9pm. I doubt we will be staying at MK with a baby 'till midnight ... but that would be the only night that would effect us.
The "toll" I am speaking of, (from our map) looks to be a booth between Epcot and MK on World Drive. I gather from what you are saying that this is just the booth where they collect the
I would have to say there there really isn't a huge mad rush at night from any park. Sure there is a burst after the night shows, but I really didn't think it was that bad. Even driving out of the parking lots was really smooth. Sort of scary how smooth it was.
I have taken a shuttle from an off site hotel before. Be aware that they only run certain times from certain parks and most of the time you don't have free choice at departure time. Yours however, could be different. Another thing is that they seem to pack the people in at night. I will never take an off site hotel shuttle again. When it comes down to it I would rather pay the $11 for the ease of having my own vehicle if not staying on property. But that's jut me.
Have a great trip!

I think I remember reading that you were staying at Bonnet Creek. You can't get any closer to onsite than that. I would hope that their shuttles were more reliable than some offsite resorts, but definately call and get the schedule of shuttle. Some offsite resorts shuttle only runs once in teh am and once in the pm and stop at all parks adding *serious* travel time. I believe I have read that Bonnet Creek has a better schedule than that, but it's always something you want to check.
My map is downstairs so this is from memory and not knowing which map you are looking at. As you travel up World Drive you will pass under a gate (this is the Main Gate that several offsite hotels and resorts refer to) This is just an arch that sends tingle of pixie dust down your spine.
Thank you so much for all of you insight and advice!!
Speaking of illuminations. I was reading last night that they have that show each night when the park"stays open late" What does that mean?? Is it when they have the extended hours that are only available to onsight guests? I would think we'd like to see that show, but I did not know if we could...
Also, well... I'll just make another post, maybe I'll get more advice if more people see it.
Maybe we will drive the first day, shuttle and monorail back to our resort for lunch and back, and see what it is like both ways..
I think our resort has pretty good shuttle service (on the hour or so), but I believe they only go to two parks.(MK, and Epcot maybe?)
I'm getting butterflies just thinking about this. It's getting very "real" the last 2 days! :::squeal:::! :)
