Thanksgiving time

I can't remember if I asked this question or not.

I am starting to look at dates for our 2007 trip. We are trying to decide if we are going to stay on site or off site at our time share.

We are looking at arriving at WDW the Saturday before Thanksgiving and then leaving for home the Saturday after Thanksgiving. DH wants to do Universal this trip also.

Historically, what are crowds like before T-Day? I know they pick up after T-Day.
DS will be having his birthday at WDW if we pick this week to go. Next year his birthday is the day after Thanksgiving. I know he wants to spend his day at MK, but I have a feeling with it being the day after, it might be pretty crowded.

Where to eat Thanksgiving dinner would be my next question. I am guessing you all will say LTT. Do most of the restaurants do a special holiday meal? Or have holiday offerings if it is all you can eat?

I think we might do Universal at the start of the trip. Last time we did it, it was at the end and everyone was pooped.

When we go will depend on when the offer MVMCP. That is why we are going so late in the year. Otherwise we would do an October trip.

TIA!

Cool! Are you going to MVMCP? I saw they have some dates before TDay. I hope that is how it is next year too.

This year will be our third trip during the Thanksgiving holiday. 2001 was our last Thanksgiving trip so I'm guessing the crowds could have changed but we have never had bad crowds during that week. That is why we love it plus the Christmas decorations are there for you to enjoy. I tried in July to book LLT but for a family of 7 I was out of luck so we are eating at the Garden Grill at EPCOT. When I called to make reservations they said it would be traditional Thanksgiving food. I'll let you know how it goes. Good Luck!

We get the whole week off, so I've known lots of people that have gone that week. That's my aunt & uncle's favorite time to go (both teachers...they went on their honeymoon that week in 1974!). My assistant principal was just there last year and took off the Thur & Fri of the week prior (the very reason he didn't give me a hard time about taking off 2 days to go to a wedding in Colorado...lol).

All of our family & friends that have gone says the weekend is a normal off-season weekend (busier than the weekdays prior). Monday is a tad busier than Sunday, Tuesday a tad busier than Mon (both still uncrowded), Wednesday starting to see small crowds, then Thursday is crowded and Friday & Saturday VERY crowded. Sunday back to a normal off-season weekend like the weekend prior.

Here's a list of who is doing what for Thanksgiving this year.

Honestly I don't think I'd do LTT for Thanksgiving because they do the turkey dinner 365. I think Thanksgiving dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe would be a hoot, and if I were looking for something more formal I'd probably do Artists Point, CRT lunch/dinner
