Is there any other way to

find out how many days I have left on some old tickets? I called Disney several months ago and was told by the CM that the only way to know was to scan them at the park, but she didn't sound like she was all that sure herself. We just returned from WDW in June and I have caught the fever. I am trying to figure out how and when we will be able to afford to go back. I meant to try to find out when we were there, but there just wasn't enough time in the day! I think my husband I should both have a couple days left over from our honeymoon in 99, but I am not sure. I am just in the fantasy planning phases and am trying to figure out how much money I need to save for the next trip. We booked a magic your way package last time which I undertand is the frequently the only way to get some of the promos that Disney offers. I would love to go next year if they offer free dining again and am not sure how to arrange it if I have a couple of extra tickets. Any suggestions are welcome!

No, the only way you can find out is in the parks. They used to tell you over the phone, but now are not allowed to do that anymore to discourage selling leftover tickets on eBay and such.

As for the dining plan, if they offer it free again (or even if you want to pay for it), all you HAVE to buy is 1-day MYW tickets.

Since you won't know how many days are left, you can wait until you get there with just the one-day MYW ticket and if you find out you need more days added, you can add them for the lower price.

You can no longer use older tickets (pre-MYW) to "upgrade" though due to the fact that you can get off cheaper that way. So, you'll have to use them as is.

Thanks! I know we had the hopper option. Let me make sure I understand. So, for example, I could book 6 nights at a hotel with just one MYW ticket and still be elgible for dining? And is it possible to upgrade at the park? I'd hate to be in line with my kids and find out our tickets were no good then have to go somewhere else to upgrade them. That could be majorly disappointing to me and the kids :)

Yes..let me give you an example situation.

Let's say you have 2 days on your current tickets.

You buy the 1-day just to get the free dining plan.

You get to the park and find out that indeed you do have 2 days on your older tickets. So, you have 3 days total, but you want 6 days. You can add the additional 3 days to your one-day ticket (getting the reduced price for each of these days).

You can do these at all of the parks, and even MK has a ticket window right at the park gates, not just across the lagoon at the TTC, so that's a relief for you. And you *may* be able to check and upgrade at your resort, but I'm not entirely sure. Just do it on your first day to get that out of the way (and get there before the park opens...at MK, get there at least 30 minutes before the park opens, and do it without skipping a beat!).

Thanks again! Sorry I am a little slow figuring some things out. I used to be smarter, but I swear my IQ dropped dramatically with the birth of each of my boys! :) I am so glad I found this board. You are such a wealth of information! I don't know why I feel such an urgency to have this mentally resolved since I am not even sure when we will go back, but I already feel relieved just by finding all this out :)
