So here is the current plan. DH is out of town, so it will be me, DS(14), DS(13), DS(5), DD(4). Brother, Wife, DD(4). We are going this Friday! SIL is new to the US and has never been. Brother hasn't been since high school.
Pick up Brother's family at Tampa Airport at noon. Go to the base, eat lunch, buy tickets at ticket office on base. Pick the little ones up from school/dayare on base. Drive commute home. Let brother's family unpack. Wait for school bus to get home at 2:30 with teenagers. Load everyone up, head to hotel in DTD.
Check into hotel. Check rooms to ensure they are clean, everything works to include water (per some recent bad reviews of the Grosvenor Resort). Head out to Eptcot for the rest of the afternoon/evening. Key items we want to hit are Mission Space, Fast Track, Soaring, Talking with Crush, Nemo Ride. Then walk around World Showcase until fireworks.
Sat Morning, eat breakfast buffet at hotel. Go to MK. Try to get them to take a picture with Mickey or Minnie and as many other pictures as possible, brother isn't a picture type of guy. Try to do as much as possible. Brother and older boys will go to Space Mountain the the other larger rides. Rides we want to hit for the younger kids are Buzz, Dumbo, Teacups, Peter Pan, Pirates, Snow White. Of course will have to spend some time in Toon Town. Really not sure how we are going to do everything. I figure no "shows", just stick to the rides and site seeing. Hopefully stay until after fireworks.
Sunday. Eat Breakfast at hotel again, check out of hotel. Go to Animal Kingdom. SIL wants to go here and the kids like it okay. Brother and older kids can go on Mt. Everest while the rest hang out in the playground area, etc. Spend as much time here as possible. Try to get all the character pictures. Eat lunch here. Then by dinner time either head back to Tampa or to DTD for shopping if SIL wants to.
Any suggestions? I haven't done a marathon MK day in a long time. Really want them to enjoy it. Brother has a bad leg from his military days, so he may have to take frequent rests. Figure since I have 3 cell phones, one for me, one for teens, and one from my brother. We will be driving 2 cars there and I plan on taking my double jogging stroller, no swivel wheel (vs sit and stand due to my carpel tunnel as I find it harder to push) for my two and then letting brother borrow my brand new single pink jogging stroller withe swivel wheel, it's super easy to push. I'd rather be pushing that! Since DH is not with me, I do not plan on carrying the younger ones as it will wear me out too fast. Other thought was to just rent a double park stroller. Do you think 3 kids ages 5, 4, 4, would be comfortable in the park stroller? Mine tend to sit in the stroller a lot. We usually take our own but wondering if taking 2 jogging strollers will be a big pain!
