My husband and I are talking about making a trip to disney with our kids (13,10,8,6,4,2). We cant rally afford to stay at the hotels but found one that is really nice and a great price. I was wondering how busy is it the last week or 2 in Aug? Have found a way to make it happen and make it a great time for all. Has anyone ever done the Pirate dress up for the paraide and the Bippity Boppity Boutque? Any helpful tips would be great. Thank you

I'd say things slow down the last couple of weeks of August. I mean, it's not slow like fall/winter, but it's slower than summer. We were there once on Labor Day weekend and it was dead!

I might make the suggestiong to skip Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and go for the Barber Shop instead. They can get a cut (if you want - don't have to) AND get their hair up in a pretty pony tail with gel/glitter in their hair - I think it's $14 for all that. (Might be extra for colored gel.) And they do colors/spikes/whatever for the boys, too. We've done the barber shop several times (both girls) and have enjoyed it.

That being said, my 6-yr-old has actually decided to save her own money to go to BBB, so we'll see if she does that. I wonder if she'll think it's worth it. (It's hard for me to let her spend $50+ on that!)

But, if it's worth the money to you, I'm sure you'd enjoy the BBB. They girls always look so princessy afterwards!

I wish we could go during a really slow time but I dont homeschool the kids. So I thought the next best thing would be as late in the summer as we could. This will be most of the kids first time there. We went almost 10 yr ago and that was my first trip there. I am wanting to go all out with this trip since we will not be going back for a long time.

Thank You sooo much. The picks at the Barber shop look great. Maybe I will get my hair done one day while we are there. There are some really cute ways they do the hair. Never thought about getting my Daughter first Haircut there but now I am think it will be a must do.

Oh, yes, if it's her first haircut, do it there! Allison had her first haircut there, and I'm glad we did. Love the free "first haircut" ears, too!

Melissa, thanks for the compliment on my girls. Megan got a $20 Disney gift card for Christmas, plus $25 cash, so she was almost to the lowest price ($50) already. I'm just not sure if she'll decide that it's worth ALL of her money once we get there, you know?

Have a question is it way worse than July? The first time to Disney was in July 4th weekend. We live where it get very humid and and some hot days.

Now that I am rethinking everything. The only thing is I need a slower time. I have a son that is on the high functioning side of the

I'd say July and August are pretty comparable with August maybe hotter but not way hotter.
