Hi
I am a disney junkie and used to go to disney monthly w/ DH.(I live in South FL :)-)Unfortunately my last visit was June 05 due to my being pg. My dd was born in Dec 05 and immeadiately I began planning our first family trip, until I found out surprise I was pg again! Now my family is complete dd #2 was born Nov 06 (my tubes were tied for medical reasons so no more surprises). Now dd #2 is 2 months old and I have the Disney bug again! This is the longest I have gone w/o going to Disney in my adult life. So those of you with kids, how young do you think would be good to start my girls' disney addictions where it is enjoyable for all of us? Also, can you get a crib (and I need 2) at Disney hotels if so where or only pack n plays?
Thanks-
Bari

I say It's never too young. My kids have been traveling since they were 6 months old. If you've got the urge to go to the most magical place on earth than by golly you should go, especially since you live close enough to go more often than most.
I'm not sure about the cribs but if you can't get them at the hotel, there are several places in orlando that you can rent cribs from and they deliver right to your hotel.
just do a search for crib rentals in orlando. you should find some names.

My ds had just turned 2 the first time he went; 2 years later, we went again, and now had dd who was 22 months.
We took our oldest to Disney for the first time at the age of 2 (he was 2 years, 5 months) and my youngest went for the first time at the age of 3 years, 1 month. Both were fine and enjoyed themselves. I've never gone with an infant, but I think if they are easy babies, it shouldn't be a problem. I wouldn't go in the heat of the summer though. I'd wait until the weather were more comfortable. My oldest would have been fine going at a younger age. He was a very content baby. My youngest is a different story. He was very high energy, even as an infant, and the trip would have been totally exhausting for me!
Good luck with your decision!

Hi Bari, I'm a newbie here (and big time Disney novice, so I have no clue about the cribs)
CLs here @ Disney, I am so sorry about posting w/ my hat on......I was at my board and wasn't paying attention when I came over and forgot to log out.
Thanks for all the advice. My situation is different then most b/c we do live only a couple of hours from Orlando it does not take much planing or money for us to visit! DH and I know the parks well and want our girls to grow up loving them as much as we do. As for the heat my girls are used to it and is not much of an issue, but no I do not want to have their first experience when it is so crowded and hot. I do not intend on taking my little dd until she is atleast 6 months and my leave her w/ my parents one weekend so my older dd can go. I know she would have been there several times already if it were not for her sister.
Having said that, if I wanted to go for me and not for the family memories I would have gone already! I love seeing pic of me as a baby in the parks. I do not remember my first trip b/c I feel it has always been a part of my life. I want my girls to feel lucky enough to have that feeling too. We are very fortunate to live so close and I want them to be able to take advantage the way dh & I have before them came into our lives. It is an important place in our lives. We had many of our early dates there, due to dh being at University of FL and me being in Miami so it was a great meeting place in the middle. We were almost engaged there, but dh cannot keep surprises from me and actually proposed in the store and took me w/ him when he bought my ring! We even looked into getting married there but good friend of dh got married there a couple of months before our wedding and his best man's sister was married there too so it would not have been so special since most of our friends had already and recently experienced weddings there. So you see disney has a long history for us!
We just want to share it with our girls and I just feel like a kid in the back of the car asking are we there yet, b/c I can't wait to capture their first time!
I totally understand the call of Disney.

If I lived closer my girls definately would have started going sooner than we did! But we've sadly never lived closer than 7-8 hours away.
