That really stinks, what you've been through. :( Congratuations on putting up such a fight and on your positive prognosis. You'll be in my prayers.

Oh...and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!

I have not been to Disney LAND (only the "World" in Florida), but my family has been able to save on the price of Disney trips because I pay attention to this board as well as a few key websites that alert me to savings:

www.mousesavers.com

and

www.allears.net

It is true that you can get better deals in the "off" season when it comes to hotels, but not so much for park tickets. There are ways to save on park tickets though, and hopefully you'll find the info you need there on one of the sites listed above.

I am sure you will get some wonderful advice here from folks that have been to DL many times, and I hope you can maybe formulate a plan to get your family there before long. Sounds like it would be nice for you all to get away and have some fun together.

Happy Birthday Melanie and many more ahead to come... You have been through so much and I think DL would be a great tthing to do as a family. I originally planned to become an oncologist (somehow ended up picking radiology) and learned after 5 years at a cancer hospital that I should try not to put things off if at all possible. I hope you can make the trip soon

I think that at least at Anaheim the weather should be pretty good at "off peak times". The good neighbor hotels are supposed to be nice. We went to DL 5 years ago but we stayed at the hyatt which i think is a little pricier than the others. I know others on this board have been recently...

One thing i would suggest---dont know how your family is---but if they do ask about what to give for xmas, etc, ask for disney gift cards! It can help with your meals etc...

Definitely use those sites that Laurie suggested... There have been deals at DL lately...

all my best!
