Thanksgiving? I know it's not a new concept (lol), but what do you think? Our time would be short compared to most of our trips, but we'd get to see the Christmas things, which is something I'd love to do.

DH is starting his new job next week, and every third week he'll have 5 days off in a row. His 5 days happens to be the week of Thanksgiving, Monday through Friday. Add that to the fact that DS only goes to school Monday and Tuesday that week, and 1/2 of Tuesday was party day this year, and I don't get so much Mommy guilt over taking him out for a trip. Since DH will be working 24 hours shifts, one day on, two days off, he could possibly bank enough comp time to take off Sunday before T-giving, which would mean we could leave as early as Friday. We'd probably have about 4 days in the parks, which isn't a ton, but is it enough to see most of the Christmas things? We'd get to do some favorites too, of course.

What do you think? I know it will be fairly busy, but it's WDW!!! All input (even negative) wanted to help me decide. I've already priced it, and it's not too bad. The trade off will be that I won't get to trade my car this fall as we have planned, and that is a consideration too, as my downpayment will have to pay for the trip.

LOL You're not a nut! You're a Disney lover, silly! :)

I can't comment specifically on Thanksgiving week b/c, although we've been there twice in mid-Nov, we've left the Mon before T-day.

I guess it really depends on the car thing. Do you *need* a new car as in yours is just about to die, or would you just really like a new car because yours isn't '_______________'. If it's the latter I would so be running numbers! lol I'm not allowed

We are going to be arriving in FL the Saturday before Thanksgiving and staying until the Tuesday after. I am hoping we will hit a low crowd since we are coming in early. I expect to avoid WDW that weekend of Thanksgiving and then going back there Sun-Tuesday.

I have the day marked for makeing ADR's for Thanksgiving. Somewhere I found the menus for what each place served for 2006. I hope it is about the same for 2007. If I can't get an ADR for a Disney restaurant, the we will make other plans. We are staying off site this trip at our time share, so I am sure we can find something if need be.

DS #1's birthday is the day after Thanksgiving. He wants to do Chef Mickey's for his birthday dinner. I think I am more concerned about getting that ADR than for Thanksgiving. Don't want a broken hearted boy on his birthday!

Good luck in your choice...I say go for it...and if all else fails you can come have Thanksgiving dinner with my group!

Did you know Ms. Nut that I am a nut right with you? We are deciding in the next couple days if we are going as well? :) I am hoping it will be the best of both worlds. Thanksgiving and holiday theming. :)

Btw, if you go three times don't you think you need AP's for you and dh? ***Big Grin***
Oh and then you could maybe get an ap discount for your room. **wink wink**
