This may seem trivial but, inspired by a post below about groceries...what's the big deal about water? Maybe I'm spoiled because here at home we have delightfully clean and pure tap water, that's all we drink. I see so many people talking about buying bottled water, having it delivered to the resort, etc. but I'd figured if we have good reusable sports water bottles and then ask for (free) ice water refills throughout the day, that's all we need? Is there something else I should know? Oh, I did hear that the taste is not great but how bad can it be? Is it sulfurous or chlorinated or something else? Also, we can take lemonade powder packets to take care of that. So really besides "taste" what is the rationale for spending $ on bottled water when you can have it for free? I can even see the convenience of not having to stand in line, etc to refill your water bottle, but I figure the savings would make up for that? So am I missing something?

I think the obsession with the water bottles is that you want to stay hydrated, especially in the summer heat in Florida and while water is available everywhere, it's usually about $2.50 a bottle.

We're taking refillable bottles and filling and drinking fountains. I bought each kid a new Disney bottle. My friend with her family of 5 just came back from Disney and did the same thing. She said they didn't ask for ice at all just used fountain water.

We took our own bottles and filled them from fountains throughout the day. We did use Crystal light packages to help with the taste. Although once I actually dumped a couple of bottles as even with the flavouring it was horrible. The thing about the fountains was it was not that cold (but we didn't have a fridge in our room either so couldn't have kept water cold).

Just filling the bottles from fountains worked well for us (7 people) and when we go again, we will probably go the same route.

We went in 2003 and had a leak proof cooler bag that we had gotten at Sea World. My DH said it's the kind you get on a golf course, if that's helpful. We had as many water bottles as it would hold and got ice off and on all day at the parks - no problems.

We didn't find any problem with the taste of the water - we also did refills of our bottles at fountains. I'm quite picky about water, too, and DH has some sort of phobia about Floridian water for some reason. :cp

I was 6 months pregnant at the time, so we drank lots and lots. We will do it the same way when we go this summer, too.

We obsessed about water before we went and we really didn't have much of a plan when it came right down to it. We generally just all got bottled water at our table service meal. We also got refillable mugs at the resorts.

We found that having a small water bottle worked best for the kids, which we refilled from a bigger bottle kept on ice because the water became warm very quickly.

We also used some of our snacks to get "water" on occasion.

There's nothing wrong with taking your own bottles and filling them up as you go. The reason why I asked about grocery delivery for water is because I don't care for the taste of the tap water in Florida and was wondering if there was a cheaper option than buying a bazillion bottles a day in the parks! LOL Yes...bottled water is an added expense, but with how important it is to stay hydrated in the heat, I figure I'd better be prepared. So...you're not missing anything....just a personal preference!

I think it's personal preference.

I won't drink water unless it's very cold and I find the water too warm to drink, so I'm not going to drink it as much as I should, so it would be bad...lol.

Mike doesn't do tap water anywhere, so he also wants bottled waters.

I also like just being able to reach in our bag and grab a water. Not have to find a fountain, wait in line, fill it up, etc.

We bring our own, but we drive, so it's not an issue. Oh, we are used to having a fridge in our room and I freeze mine the night before.
