I just wanted to announce that I finally booked Port Orleans Riverside for Oct. 16-20! Yay! I really, really wanted to stay at Boardwalk, but decided to be smart and save some money by staying at a moderate. Of course, if dh and ds ever decide to go with us, I will be looking to upgrade us LOL!
Anyway, Meredith and I are excited to be going back to the F&W for the 2nd year in a row. However, I was very disappointed with the reservation process for special events. As a Disney Visa card carrier, I should have been able to book whatever I wanted 1 day before it opened to the general public. I waited until later in the day to call; I only wanted a culinary demo plus the new Parisian Breakfast. Well, the CM spent 30 minutes trying to book the breakfast, and there was some glitch in the system, and she couldn't do it. I somehow hit the end button on my cell, so I called back hoping a different CM would be able to do it. No such luck (after another 30 minutes). The next day, I forgot to call first thing, and I didn't remember until late afternoon. I called again to be told they were sold out. I had her to check EVERY Saturday during F&W because the CM the day before had said she was showing it booked for the entire festival. Yep; sold out completely! I seriously wander if that is true, but I guess if there is very limited seating, it is possible. I was also told that at 7 am that morning, Disney didn't have the system ready and loaded! Can you believe that??? It must have been a nightmare because I saw tons of people online really complaining about it. Of course, now that I can't get the breakfast, I'm obsessed about it Everything else is so outrageous that I can't justify the cost. Maybe next year!
