We are thinking of doing WDW in Oct....m

We would most likely do two days at WDW and one day at Sea World (my lil boy loves whales, dolphis and such). It would be me, DH, my 5 yr old son and my 27 month old daughter. Do you think this is a "good age" to take them? Any suggestions/ideas on what things we will/will not be able to ride with either one or both of them. Also, we live in NW Florida and I know WDW has the "PlayFour" thing going on now where it's a 4-day pass for $105+/- but it says that is valid only thru Sept 30. We would be there around Oct. 8th-10th while my son is out on Fall Break. Does anyone know if they will offer FL residents discounted tickets at that time?

I've been to WDW several times as an adult (tho not in about 3-4 years) but I've never been with young childen. Any suggestions/advice is greatly appreciated. TIA!

As far as I'm aware, there are no Florida resident discounts on just 2 day passes. You can get the 4 day that you mentioned, or you can get a seasonal annual pass, but I'm pretty sure those are the only resident discounts (however, the AP for Fl res is an AWESOME deal!).

You can get the bounce-back discount, though, by buying your 2 one-day one park tickets on the same day at the Disney gate. But, you cannot park hop, so each ticket will only be good for one park that day. That discount will save you $5 per person.

As far as rides, we took my daughter at almost 3, and every year after until she was almost 6. I have a list of attractions we did with her, and how much she liked/disliked them here. http://pages.ivillage.com/alygator/review.html Please note that ALL kids are different, and that mine tends to be VERY sensitive!

Missy, we are also in NW florida. We use Annual Seasonal Passes. For us, we go for a week's vacation on the new pass, then a little less than a year from then we will use it for another week. it works for us like a regular annual pass without the extra expense BUT there are black out dates so you have to watch for that. Unless they come out with another FL discount, or if you aren't planning to come more than one time in the following 12 months, regular admission at the gate may be your best bet....

Good luck finding your info!

Great page! Thanks for the info. I think those "Play 4" passes for FL residents expire on Sept. 30th which is before we go. Even tho we will likely only be there 2 days, if they do have a deal like that one for October, it would be cheaper/as cheap as buying individual one-day passes....plus then we could park-hop. So I think we will likely go for the 4-day passes if we can find them at a discounted rate. I think we can get them thru our credit union at discounted rats....but not sure what the cost is. Thanks again for the info and link.

Hi Beth! We are in Milton...just north of Pensacola. How about you? I think we will most likely go for the 4-day pass even tho we only *plan* on doing 2 days (LOL) Since they don't expire, we can always use the extra days in the future. I think the kids are a little young for the annual passes...not sure we'd be able to go more than once every 1-1.5 yrs anyway....but good suggestion! Thanks again for all the help/ideas!

Hey Missy!!

I'm in Century...used to live in Pensacola, but moved here a little over a year ago. My sis lives with us and she works in Milton...and we grocery shop in Pace, so we're all over your area!

Don't forget that you won't need a ticket for your youngest...just age 3 and over.

I checked AAA last night to see if they offered any sort of discount other than annual passes or the play 4, but they don't. There may be another pass that comes out 10/1, so you may be able to wait until then to make your decision.

You will love going in October. Great time!!

have a great day planning!

Well HEY NEIGHBOR! LOL! Small world, huh? I am getting my DH to check the ticket rates thru our credit union.....in the past we have gotten them there at reduced rates. When are yall planning to go? This is kind of "spur of the moment" for us....LOL but that is how we tend to do things anyway. I have another question about hotels but I think I'll post it above. Thanks again for all your info! Maybe we'll bump into each other at the Walmart in Pea Ridge! Heehee!

The special discount passes like the Play 4 DO expire, unlike the regular 4 day park hoppers which never expire. The current one that expire 9/30/03 do just that..expire 9/30/03, I can't tell when they started it, but there was also a 7/4 black-out. So, if they do offer another pass like this starting Oct, they will expire in the near future.

Hi, I'm new to this board as I just got back from a Disney vacation last week. It was my dd's first time (6 yrs. old) & my first time in 18 yrs. Anyway, first off, it completely depends on what you want to do & what parks you want to go to, but I think you're going to need more than 2 days at Disney. Secondly, JMO, 27 months is a little too young b/c you'll be missing out on a lot of things she won't be able to go on, but again, that's JMO. I'm copying the height restrictions for rides @ Disney. I hope this helps.
