We decided to pop out to California...
| Thu, 06-01-2006 - 2:40pm |
this summer. Dh and I decided to go out to visit his dad in July. We will be traveling from Oklahoma with our 7 year-old daughter and 15 year-old son. I have about 40 days to plan this entire trip so...
What are the best deals on tickets to disneyland?
Any suggestions on the best day of the week to visit?
Do not miss events for our 7 year-old? (our 15 year-old has gone before...)
Any ideas you can throw at me would be appreciated!!
Laura

Hi! My answers are based on a recent visit (and planning) for a trip my younger dd (15) and I took to Disneyland in March.
What are the best deals on tickets to disneyland?
- I booked our trip through Disney and used the Disney website. I think you can get a break in price by ordering online ahead of time rather than waiting until you get to the parks. Also, you'll save by buying hopper passes. But check out the prices on the Disney website. When we went they were having the promo of everyone pays the kids' price.
Any suggestions on the best day of the week to visit?
- I'm trying to remember what I read in the Birnbaum book. I know it's weekdays, and I think it's Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. However, any summer day is going to be awful.
Do not miss events for our 7 year-old? (our 15 year-old has gone before...)
- Gosh, so many to mention, lol. In California Adventure - Soaring Over California, Grizzly River Run, if they like boardwalk type rides the roller coaster, Hollywood Tower of Terror. In Disneyland - any of the coaster rides, Buzz Lightyear, Fantasmic, Pirates of the Carribean, Haunted Mansion, on and on and on, lol.
Edited to add this information I found about tickets on the Disneyland website. If you buy a 3-day hopper pass online you can save $20 per ticket. If you are planning on doing more than just Disneyland there is a 2006 Southern California City Pass that includes a 3-day hopper pass, plus admissions to Universal Studios and several places in San Diego (San Diego Zoo, Wild Animal Park). Here is the link to the ticket info on the Disneyland site: http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disneyland/en_US/reserve/ticketListing?name=TicketListingPage

Buying in advance from Disney will save you some money, you can also use a ticket broker, Mousesavers just listed one that has prices about $5 cheaper than Disney on adult tickets and $3 cheaper for kids.
Are you looking at early July or Mid July? There's a special right now for Disneyland but you have to check in by June 29.
