We're back -- very fun, but very tiring trip. The boys were overtired and overstimulated which led to more than one meltdown, but we survived!
Some thoughts:
- Loved direct flight on Airtran. 2 hrs and 15 minutes and we were there. Can't beat it.
- Caribbean Beach was okay, but I might try the cabins at Wilderness Campground next time. Would have been nice to have separate sleeping area so we could stay up a bit longer to have some private time after kids are in bed. Also - our beds were pretty uncomfortable.
- dining package worked out great - but we didn't use all our meals. Mainly used the snacks and counter service credits. Only had 2 sitdowns - breakfast at Chef Mickey's and lunch at Crystal Palace.
- Can't imagine ever going back at any other (busy) time of year. Most times, we only waited 5 minutese for rides, and were able to get right back on. Longest wait time was 10-15 minutes. Since Cameron was too short for alot of rides did use the "baby swtich" option a couple of times which shaved off a few minutes.
- One down side is this is apparently one of the times of year for "love bugs" - very annoying insects. Blech!
- Make sure you don't leave your family to try to find ice cream right before fireworkss start! I waited in line for 10 minutes, decided too long to wait, and started ehading back when almost all lights in park were turned off in prep for fireworks starting. Took me awhile to find them again!!
- Brought along a small water bottle / mister -- came in handy on hot days.
If I think of anything else, I'll leave another message!

The
"love bug" (also known as the honeymoon fly, telephone bug, double-headed bug, united bug, and March fly) is a nuisance any Florida motorist is unhappily more than passingly familiar with. Though these bugs neither bite nor sting, at certain times of the year their sheer numbers transform these innocuous insects into airborne hordes seemingly determined to devil anyone fool enough to take to the road. The adults splatter on windshields, lights, grills, and radiators of motor vehicles, and their dried remains are hard to remove. Suicidal pairs of love bugs have been known to cause overheating of motors when large numbers of them are drawn into the cooling systems of liquid-cooled engines. Unlike other bugs, something particular to them adversely affects the paint jobs on cars, pitting and etching the paint if their mortal remains are left on a vehicle for more than 48 hours.
Every May and September these sex-crazed critters become an annoyance bordering on intolerable as the air teems with mating pairs.
