oh boy... it's been hectic... first we were going, then we weren't, then we were, then we weren't!! then i got a 1 bedroom villa at the beach club, then we decided it was too much money, so i cancelled it, then we weren't going again. (and thank you sonya and val for your help!!)

then we decided life is too short, and we're going!! (well, *I* decided... dh went along with me;)

So, no villas left, so i got a standard room at the boardwalk, and the kids were so happy because they LOVE that clown slide! But dh wanted a villa, so i called every day, and finally got the beach club 1 bedroom again. but the kids were SO disappointed no clown slide, so i called for days, and finally this morning, there's a 1 bedroom villa at the boardwalk, so i grabbed it!! but when i told dh i switched from the beach club to boardwalk, he was upset. But i absolutely know the kids will enjoy the boardwalk pool more than sab (at sab, they're too big for the kiddie sections, and not really big enough for the big sections there). So we're keeping the boardwalk :)

So we fly out thursday on Delta, and dh and i haven't flown in about 10 years because we were chicken. BUT i got an awesome upgrade to first class for the ride down for a tiny bit more than our coach seats, but if anyone has to get bumped out of first class, we'll be the first ones to go, but it was worth the chance. I'm crossing my fingers we get to stay in first class! if we do, the kids will be like "what the heck is this???" when we have to fly coach on the way back... LOL!

So our itinerary is getting to boardwalk around 7pm thursday night and maybe getting a cab to goodings to stock up on food. Also, getting our annual passes at the international gateway, maybe going into world showcase. friday, dd and I will probably head to MK to get our 'fix' and either dh and ds will come, or just swim. Yachtsman Steakhouse dinner ressies.

we don't have any other fixed plans except for sunday fantasmic dinner package (hollywood and vine). We plan to visit each park (at least dd and I will) and do stuff we've missed in the past. we're coming back home the next friday.

Oh, my question about flying... temperature on the plane??? should we wear pants or shorts?? i don't know if they air-condition the heck out of the airport and planes in the summertime.

We're not checking any baggage either. we're each wearing a backpack (the kids have the ones w/ wheels too) and only taking 2 changes of clothing since i have the washer/dryer. anytime we've stayed in the villas, i always ended up doing laundry every night just since it was convenient, and we only wore 2 of the 8 changes of clothes i had brought.

i'm getting very excited now!!!

I say shorts for the plane. Planes are usually really stuffy until after take off. They try to conserve "energy" prior to take off and normally the fan/air in the cabin is limited. Plus if you sit on the runway for awhile before take off it will be hot. You can always grab an airline blanket for the kids legs.

Have fun!

Have a great trip. And let me know how the villas are (although I know you stayed in them before). I just booked our trip for next January yesterday - I wanted the Beach Club villas, but none were available, so we got the Boardwalk villas instead.
I hope my 6 year old will be brave enough to go down the clown slide. My 3 yo won't go in the water in any event.
Also, if you end up eating at Spoodles, please give a report. I'm wondering whether it's worth it to even try it, given the mixed reviews.

Have a great time!! How exciting that you planned it so quickly!! We packed carry-on for our last 2 trips (one to DW, one to St. Martin) and it worked out really well - so good luck with that, I'm sure you won't regret it!

I'm GREEN with envy!!

LOL! I have a different opinion on how to dress on the plane! I usually wear capri pants when traveling in the summer. I'm always cold on the plane. I also don't like my bare legs touching the seats that hundreds of people have sat on. Maybe I'm strange. Hee, hee. hee.

Anyway. I know you will have a great trip! That's great that you're carrying on your luggage! No waiting at the baggage returns!

Wow! I'm so excited for you, Liz!!! HOORAY!!! I'm so glad that you're going!!! You were kind of "quiet" the last few days so I thought for sure, the trip was off - so glad I was wrong!
