to go to Disney World. We were planning May but DH's boss used to work for Disney and said it was crowded since school was letting out. (we would go early May) He said September is the best. What is the diffrence it the weather? Or do you suggest another Month. We want to be able to swim but I hate a lot of heat.

We have been first week of April and last week in October. This year we are going last week in September and next year first week of December.

When we were there in October it was really hot and humid. The weatherman said it was odd for that time of year...it was about 85-90 every day.
In April it was 80-85 but not as humid.
I am expecting September to be warm and still humid, but we will see. Maybe it won't be, but if I remember correctly September is their rainiest month, so the humidity will be high-that is what kills me-not the heat.

As far as crowds I heard September crowds are low and I think May wouldn't be too bad if you go early because if school is getting out it is normally right before Memorial Day and spring breaks are done by then.

Well, we used to be October people. We've been three times in October, once in September, once in June and once in May. By far, the BEST time we've had, both weather-wise and crowds-wise, was May. We were there May 8-15, 2004. May 9 was my DS's b-day, and also Mother's Day that year. We had the best time!!

We are shooting for May 2007...the 12-20 hopefully.

(incidentally, September and October can still be brutally hot. We were there September 28-Oct 3, 2005 and it was terribly hot and humid. It was also really crowded. Since they've started with the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, late September/October crowds aren't as light as they used to be. The Epcot Food and Wine Festival also contributes to higher crowds)

Good luck deciding!

We went the last week of September 3 years ago and while it was nearly empty and great from that standpoint, it was still brutally hot and humid.

Well, we went this year in May (April 30 - May 5). I thought the crowds were greater than we are used to. We've been going in Feb. when the crowds are very light. The weather was nice, even cool at night and early in the a.m. But by the end of the week, it was 93. Although, there was little humidity, so if you were in the shade, it was fine. However, that was enough to make us want to go back in Feb. next year.

I got so tired of the kids begging to swim (mine are 8 and almost 6). I don't mind taking a break, and we always do, but I don't want to go to the pool every day. We can do that at home, in the summertime of course!

I had a lot of friends to go last fall. Some the first week of Oct., some the 2nd, and some the 3rd. They all talked about how crowded it was and how unbelievably hot. You can imagine what Sept. will be if Oct. is like that. Plus, with the free dining plan going on then, I would imagine that that will bring out the crowds. You should remember that Sept is hurricane season, and WDW was affected 2 years ago.

HTH!

I tried to answer this yesterday but my computer's been finicky lately >:(

Anyway, I've never been in Sept but as the others have posted, I've read that although crowd-wise it's great, weather is hot like summer.

Yep, September is one of the best times to come. Just after Labor day weekend.
The weather is warm and the crowds are way down. Only thing is it rains most days after 2 pm, so outdoor activities should be started early on in the day. It is SOO worth it to visit during the less crowded times, makes all the difference in the world!

We went Sept this last year - around the 10th for a week and then a week long cruise. This was crazy hurricane weather. Luckily, nothing struck Florida while we were there but our cruise got re-routed due to Rita and that's when Florida got some weather. We also were worried about our return flights because they went through Texas which was not a pretty sight. It was also VERY hot. We were pretty miserable. On the up side crowds were not terrible and although we missed out on the free dining because we booked early and didn't know about it until it was too late, that would have been a great bonus. I'm trying to figure out another time of year to go next time though. I have heard Oct is really busy now otherwise we might try that. I'd kind of like to go when it's warm enough for the water parks. That was one of my favorite days this past trip - of course that may have been because it was the only day I wasn't miserable! LOL! Maybe we'll try Feb or early May.

My favorite month is early December, but from what I understand, it's not as uncrowded as it used to be (we went in '99, '00, '01, and '02). I've also been in late February (a bit crowded), mid-September (HOT, but completely uncrowded), and twice in July (hot & crowded).

Our next definite trip is early Feb '08. February for us depends on Mardi Gras and 2 years ago we went at Mardi Gras when it fell a week after Pres Day. Several people I know that have been at Mardi Gras in EARLY Feb found it to be completely uncrowded, so we're hoping that's the case in '08.
