Do NOT drive yourself to MK for early EMH. MK is not like the other parks where you park near the front and walk or take a tram to the gate. For MK you park at the TTC then have to take the ferry or the monorail to the park.

I can't answer all your questions, but I will answer a few of them.

You could probably get quite a bit done at MK, but it really depends on how crowded it is that day. I just looked at my trip notes from June and we only did 8 attractions and no character meets at our first day at MK, plus a counter service meal, a table service meal, a mid-day break, and watching the Spectra parade. If you don't have a guide book, I'd recommend getting one. I have an older version of the Passporter that has a list of attractions for each park and estimated time for each attraction. Try to do Dumbo first thing, because the line moves so slowly. I'd also consider getting the "mountain" attractions done during EMH if possible. Use fastpass whenever possible!

We have never driven to the parks and always relied on Disney Transportation, but you could drive in the morning if you wanted to and take the ferry back to FT Wilderness for rest time and drive your car back at night if you wanted. I looked up the travel time and by boat it takes 15 minutes from Ft Wilderness to MK. I believe that most Disney transportatin starts to run one hour before park opening. Just remember if you drive, you will have to take the monrail or boat from the ticket and transportation center to the MK gate. I am not sure you'd save time driving yourself.

I believe that all attractions now have posted wait times. Sonya recently posted that even the character meets in the Judges Tent have posted wait times too.

If you purchased a package, yes, your park tickets will be on your resort card or your "key to the world" (I think that is what it is called) which you will get at check in.

To use photopass, you will see photographers at popular sites within the park. You will be issued a platic credit card size card the first time your family gets a picture taken and then you can hand that card to the photopass photographer each time your family gets a picture taken. You can view and purchase photos from the park, from home, or order the entire CD to get the rights to have the pictures printed whenever/where ever you want (in which case you'd want to get lots of photos taken). I think some of the photos taken while you ride on certain attractions can now be put on your photopass card. Here is a link to further (and better) explain things: http://allearsnet.com/tp/ppass.htm

Can't help you with the air travel question. My DH tried to fly stand by from Denver last week after he missed his flight and the airline couldn't guarantee him a flight for 2 days. He was not able to get on stand by and had to buy another ticket home :( But, we don't fly often and I am sure someone out there who does can help you out.

I hope that was more helpful than confusing :) Have a great time!
