Hello--19 days until we leave for Diney World. Our ds's are 7 & 8--just wondering what attractions/rides/activities were big hits for this age group? We are only there for 5 days and I want to make sure we use our time wisely.

So far the only planned activity is our brakfast with the characters--Chef Mickey. I reserved that. Should we do another character meal--or would that be enough?

Any other tips? We've been here twice, but the boys were 3 & 4 last time we went. My younger ds doesn't remember everything. I have to laugh--my then 4 year old was kissed by Cinderella, and he had lipstick on his forehead--he was in awe of her! I have the best picture of him with her!!!!!

My boys are 2 and 4 so I can't help you with your question. I just wanted to say how sweet about your DS and Cinderella! DH was less than thrilled to hear that DS likes her, lol. I will be sure to tell him about your DS. I don't know what his problem is, I think it is sweet that my DS thinks she is pretty! Now if DS wanted to dress up like Cinderella, DH would have reason to complian, LOL.

My DS's were almost 5 & almost 8 last trip. DS5 was finally tall enough to hit all of the roller coasters that he has been dying to get on since his first trip when he was almost 3!

My boys love the pin trading. They also suddenly (last night of trip) decided they want to collect autographs. Who knew? Next trip it will be something different.

I was surprised that they loved the Festival of the Lion King show. And I saw pictures from the Nemo Show and that looks awesome.

So, if your boys will ride rides, I would say try them all!

Have fun!

How cute about Cindi's lip print on your DS's head! And LOL about how our hubbies get over these things!

Clara will be 9 this May so maybe that will help.

Hi, Lisa! We got back just a couple of weeks ago, and I think the other ladies have great suggestions. The only thing I have to add is that on your day at Epcot, get there right when the park opens and head STRAIGHT for Soarin'. Beacuse it's the newest (and in my opinion, the absolute BEST) ride at Epcot, the lines get really outrageous throughout the day. When we went, we did Soarin' first and the only "wait" was walking from the entrance to the ride, which takes you about 15 minutes. Later that day we did Soarin' again because my parents really wanted to ride it, and they hadn't been with us in the morning, so we went back and the wait was an hour & a half. Still totally worth the wait, IMO, but it was awesome to just walk right in because we went there first!

Sonya - my 12 yr old won't do ToT, either. She went on it in 2004 and HATED every minute of it. And she's usually a thrill seeker, but not a big fan of free fall.

Lisa,

We have two ds. They are 9 and 6. Here are their suggestions:

MGM- Tower of Terror, if they like Star Wars, then they need to go to Star Tours and the Padawan training, Great Movie Ride, Fantasmic

Animal Kingdom: Dinosaur, Mt. Everest, the safari

Magic Kingdom: Stitch(although mom doesn't agree with this one), Space Mountain, Pirates of Carribean, Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Railroad, Buzz Lightyear,

Epcot: Test Track, Club Cool

They don't really have much to say about the Epcot places. They do enjoy the Kidcot stations. There is also a Stitch breakfast at the Polynesian. That is on our must do for our summer trip.

ETA: The Indiana Jones show is pretty cool as well according to them.

Also added for some reason I thought they continued the training academy to run throughout the year. Now I can't find it anywhere......Sorry about that!

In addition to everything listed, my DS's, 11 and 7, love Tom Sawyer Island (they both love the fort). My 7 year old loves the Indiana Jones Show, and they both really liked Soarin.

Neither of them like thrill rides all that much though...
