Hi!

My husband has a midweek business meeting for 3 days and he is staying at a hotel RIGHT in the Downtown Disney area. My dughter and I will likely go with him...BUT, we have the seasonal passes and the blackout dates have just started! (drat) I don't want to spend the money on tix, but I would prefer not to get too far from the Disney complex. Also...it's going to be hot during the day...other than water parks...what would you do with your time?

Hi my spouse and i went down and didn't go into parks because we are going back again with kids in dec. and he isn't into crowds so i was trying to find other things to do well. here are some of the things we did if you get bus to mgm right before you go in to the left i believe there is a boat that goes to some other resorts it taes ou by dolphins and a few i don't remember it should be a cool ride and its free also it brings you to the boardwalk which is GREAT all kinds of stuff to watch and see you can rent tandum bikes and just spend a day there it was really nice. Of course shop at downtown disney and let your child play in water sprinklers. you defenitely can spend a whole day there.there is also miniture golf place there somewhere that my grandkids loved last time we went. so keep looking you can find lots to do and i am sure everyone here will offer suggestions but PLEASE don't miss the boatride to boardwalk it is great. littlebitt

  • Shop and explore Down Town Disney the way you really don't get to when you're only hitting it in between parks on a normal trip. Play with legos for hours, ride the train & carousel, watch some of the artists, get your hair wrapped- heck schedule Bibiddi Bobiddi Botique!

  • Visit and explore Fort Wilderness and or Boardwalk

I know you want to stay "close", but if you do want to go off-site one of the 3 days, what about one of these places:

http://www.osc.org/

Of course, I'm sure you can definitely keep busy for 3 days on-site.

There's also a movie theater at Downtown Disney, and Disney Quest.

Explore the Boardwalk

Have lunch (or ice cream for lunch) at Beaches & Cream at the Beach Club

Make an ADR for a character meal at one of the resorts, then ride the Monorail loops

What is "Bibiddi Bobiddi Botique"?

Why specifically the Wilderness lodge for the hidden mickey hunt?

Those things sound interesting!

Thanks

I'd spend time at DTD, in the resort pool, taking the bus to one of the monorail resorts and riding the monorail and exploring those resorts (we've been lucky enough to hit arts and crafts time at the GF in the giftshop...FREE!!) I'd maybe take in a movie, make some ressies at resort restaurants....

Gosh, three days would fly by!!

Mini-golf (we liked the winter course at Winter Summerland), Downtown Disney, ride the monorail, check out the resorts, character meal at a resort, from what I've read, there are a lot of things at FW to do, horseback riding, etc.

Enjoy yourself!

I don't know if this would fit in with your plans (and pocketbook) but the last time I was at Coronado Springs on a business trip, we were able to purchase "After 3 pm" tickets to the parks at a significant discount.
