What's the best planner site/book?

There are so many: passporter, allearsnet, guide2WDW, DWinsider, wdwinfo ...
And books! I just ordered the 2007 Passporter; I know the 2008 version is released just before we go, but I don't want to wait LOL. Plus I got a 30% discount now ;).
But then I stopped at my AAA office for a FL tourbook & maps, and saw Birnbaum's books on the rack there. Then there's ALL the other ones out there, my head's spinning.
Dh thinks I'm nutso for spending so much time on this LOL. Am I being sucked in or suckered in to the Disney phenomenon?
I haven't even mentioned pin-trading to him yet!

In peace,

That's the million dollar question!!!
I use a combination of Allearsnet, this site, TourGuideMike (.com), and I had the Unofficial Guide to WDW but I loaned it to a friend and didn't get it back. I wanted the Passporter, but DH said it was TourGuideMike or the Passporter, and I picked TGM.
Birnbaum's books have all the bright-colored pictures that get you excited, but, since they are the "Official" Guide, they make everything sound all rosy and perfect.
My best advice is to go to the library and see what they have. Even if the books are a year or two behind, you can still get an idea of what you like and don't like about the book itself, writing style, etc.
Hope this helps!!

I like Passporter, you can download any updates to your 2007 version from the web site before you go.
We also use WDW For Kids BY Kids and I keep an eye on Allears and Mousesavers for any bargains to be had.
Pin Trading? oh yes - we do that too LOL! I usually try and get a stock of pins on hand from Ebay before we go, and of course we buy more once we are there..

Hi Max!
We have WDW with Kids, and the Passporter.
I LOVED my passporter so much, I bought another for this year! I also HIGHLY reccommend disboards (dot com).
This will be our first trip using Tour Guide Mike. I had to re arrange a bucnh of things based on his advice, so I am just putting a bunch of trust in his advice!
I think as long as you are putting a bit of effort into yyou plans, and keep in mind and NO plan is fool proof, you will be fine!!

I'm one of the very few that loves Birnbaum's OFFICIAL guide, it's like a very detailed brochure. Their WDW for Kids by Kids is great, too.
I also love the Passporter and WDW with Kids by Kim Wright Wiley--very attuned to taking toddlers & preschoolers, but just a great guide overall.
If you are only getting one, I'd go with the Passporter.
Otherwise, check your library. They may not have the newest guide, but if you get a fairly recent one, very little changes from edition to edition for the most part. It's also the best way (cheapest) to see whose writing style you like best.
