Which park AK or Epcot or ???

We may be attending a conference in July staying at the Coronado which I understand is pretty much the norm for a conference. We live in CA and went to Disneyland/California Adventures last year and I promised the kids a future trip back there. We have limited time with the conference events and I wanted a unique DisneyWorld adventure. So which park for someone who doesn't want the Magic Kingdom? Also are the water parks worthwhile?
We are a family of 5. A DH, me, dd 8, ds 5, and ds 2.
Thanks everyone.

Since you are from California, you do get alot of the same attractions (at Disneyland and CA) at Disney-MGM Studios and Magic Kingdom. Epcot has some of the same rides/shows like Soarin. For a completely new experience, I would try Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. This one tends to be more popular for younger children, too.
For waterparks, I would suggest Typhoon Lagoon for your kids. This is a great waterpark with a huge wave pool with actual surf waves plus you can't beat the Sharks Reef experience. You get to snorkel with fish and sharks. It's amazing! This waterpark is alot of fun for kids of all ages.
Have fun!
We just got back and loved Epcot.
" My 10 year old ds would have spent all day looking at the naked mole rats! "
That remind me! When we were at AK, a Cast Member starting hollering "Naked mole Rats - down here......" That's when we decided to do the Forest Exploration (Pangani?) Trail, but we forgot about the naded mole rats. The kids thought the thought of them was hilarious though.
