I'm so excited to be back to the board... it means WDW here we come! I hope some of you remember me. I was here 2 years and 4 years ago. lots has changed! We have added to the family! We now have a beautiful ds, Gavinn 11 months! We already had ds, Wyatt 10 and dd, Kendall 10 (birthday today actually!) of course dh, Shawn 32 (going on 12 hehe). We are planning a last minute trip to Disney stopping back through Destin to have a few days at the beach. July 2-9 wdw staying off site in condo and July 9-13 destin.

The only real questions I have is what is new from 2 years ago. When we were there last time Its a Small World was closed so we are excited to see that. How is it? Also we will be there when Pirates of the Caribbean is scheduled to reopen.. very excited about that. Gavinn will be 1 year on June 24 so we are kinda treating the trip as a birthday party trip. I have already scheduled character meals for July 3 @ Chef Mickeys (breakfast) and July 4 Crystal Palace (Lunch) I'm ordering a cake at chef mickeys. (should I do one at crystal palace too??? any experience?) The lady I spoke with to make the reservations told me she would mark both ressies "1st b-day" but to re-iterate it to the hostess. I hope they do it up right!!!! (I also hope it doesn't scare the poo out of Gavinn!!!! lol)

Literally everyday, Shawn says... can you imagine if we were leaving today for disney? lol He is (as usual) more excited than the kids!! HE has the countdown on his computer.. before I had a chance to do my own on my computer! He is so cute!

well thats all for now, I will be checking in periodically, its so good to be back and I hope to talk to you all very soon!

Anyone be there when we are? (or are all of you too smart to go the hottest week of the year!! lol)

later...

Welcome back Alisa. Happy 10th birthday to Kendall and congratulations on your "new" little one!

I think they updated the loading area on it's a small world, gave it fresh paint, and updated the sound.

Happy planning!

Welcome back! Yes, a few things have changed in 2 years. First, let me say that my kids are ds (just turned 8) and dd (6 on June 22nd). We have been every year for 5 years in a row.

Here's what has been added, that I can think of. Soarin' at Epcot; absolutely AWESOME!!! We could have ridden this 10 times. Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom; again, Awesome! Lights, Motors, Action - stunt show at Studios; incredible, yet again. Cinderallabration - show in front of the castle at MK; very nice. Not sure when Mission Space opened; I believe it was sometime around mid-2004, so you may have seen it; it wasn't open when we were there in Feb. What about Turtle Talk with Crush? We saw it for the first time this year, and it was great! I'm so glad we waited in the line that looked unbelievably long; the show seats 190 people, so we only waited about 15 mins. Lastly is Stitch, which I believe opened in 2004 also. We hate it! I would never recommend it to anyone. A good bit of it is in pitch blackness.

I believe that is all. And let me just say, that I think August will feel much hotter than July 4th. I told my friends that are taking advantage of the free dining plan on Aug. 13th that they were insane! You couldn't pay me a million dollars to go then! I don't do heat and humidity very well. We live in the south, so I can say that and know what I'm talking about!

M'Shel

BTW, happy birthday! Are they twins? I think Alysha missed that, or maybe I did.

Welcome back, Alisa! Steph gave you tons of great info but I remember seeing something on the Disney World site that would give you a listing of all the stuff that's new since you've last been.

Thanks to everyone! No the kids are not twins... we get asked that all the time. Sometimes we say yes, just born 6 months apart! hehe actually we have a "mine, his and ours" family. Or as I like to say, I have two sons and a bonus daughter.

We are very excited about Everest, and the Lights, Motors, Actions (which I just found out about from a tv show on Disney about 2 weeks ago.) I know it goes against popular opinion (sorry Alysha I know you love it) but we don't really care for Epcot, so we probably aren't going to do Soarin'... We have done Mission Space. What about Turtle Talk with Crush, & Stitch, where are they and what are they? Don't remember hearing about them. All dh cares about seeing is Beauty and Beast Show at MGM and Storytime with Belle at MK. He is in love with Belle, as some of you remember 4 years ago he got to be the beast at Storytime...... what a memory!!! I got them to pick him without his knowing! I'm crying, he is beside himself with excitement and the kids are just wondering why the heck dad got to go up and they didn't!

I have a question for those of you who go regularly. We have gone to WDW every other year since DS was 4 so this is our 4th trip. When we tell people we are going again they look at us like we are insane and ask all kinds of stupid questions like... Why are you going there again when there are so many other place you could visit? or How can you afford that every other year, it's so expensive? (which I find offensive, like asking someone how much money they make, besides my dh works very hard for the stuff I have hehe!!! We just save save save to be able to do this trip. And DH does works very hard! lol) I have almost gotten to the point where I just tell people we are going to "Florida" on vacation instead of WDW. My mom-in-law is the worst about it. She thinks we spend too much $$ on everything (none of her business) but we haven't even told her yet we are going anywhere because we don't want to hear the @#$%$#. DH and I took a trip to Vegas for our anniversary and we didn't tell her 'til we got back for that very reason!! Plus she would have wanted to take care of Gavinn and we don't trust her, but thats a whole different story!! lol

Anyway what do you say to people like that when they question your vacation choice???

thanks,
Alisa

Yes, yes, I do love Epcot. You asked about Turtle Talk with Crush (which IS at Epcot, at the Living Seas), are you getting park hoppers? You can hop over just to do Crush & Soarin' (their pavilions are right next to each other in Future World).

Are you looking for Stitch as a character or the attraction with Stitch? The character can be found at AK and MK, the attraction is in Tomorrowland at MK.

As far as comments...I try to ignore them, or mention how it's a different vacation every time, or something like that. Ironically, many times it's from someone who goes on cruises or to casinos over & over again. Then, there's MIL...money AND safety (I hate for y'all to go, you could get in a wreck).

My Respose is "I'll stop going when I have seen everything at least twice".

There is just SO much to do that I can't wait to make it a regualr thing!!

As for the price question my response is "Not if you know the secrets!!" Then refuse to give more details! LOL!

And for any question that I find borderline "offensive" I say "Why do you want to know?"

You can't let others take away youe happiness!!!
