I've heard of the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, of course, and even have seen pics of it

Well, if you ever get there you need to go up in the Arch.

I have a friend from another board who lives in IL near St. Louis and I went there to visit her and she knew all the good spots...including the Budwieser Brewery.

Going up in the Arch is a definite have-to! I love the museum too; it's great for history buffs--very interesting! And the Brewery gives a great tour (& samples at the end!).

I live in the metro St. Louis area and there are a LOT of good places w/in an hour of downtown St. Louis.

I loooove Laurel K! I actually discovered her many years ago by the Arch on the front of one of her books that caught my eye in a bookstore. We were living in Dallas at the time but I grew up near Edwardsville, IL and greatly missed the area. I've been hooked on her stuff ever since!

Luckily, we just moved back to St. Louis proper (I'd never lived in the city) about 3 months ago after being away since I graduated high school. My family/friends is close to here and my DH's family lives in the bootheel. We wanted our son to grow up knowing more of his family than we had the chance to so far. And I LOVE it!!!! To this day, I get this little jump in my tummy when I drive past the Arch and downtown St. Lou. There's just something about it. Even all the places in IL I wanted to get away from as a kid makes me so melacholy now. And Missouri in general is special. The landscape and scenery-the bluffs and all the lakes. I even love the hustle and bustle of Branson!

We have a Jayco Jayfeather 23B hybrid that's temporarily parked at my DH's dad's house down in the bootheel We're not sure if we can get it in our current driveway! :-( But I can't wait until spring and start exploring all of the camping areas here!

I have Danse, but haven't read it yet. I get bummed too when they're over and it's so long in between, so I wait and savor them when I have time to almost sit and read it straight through.

I have all the Merry books, but haven't read a one. I've heard they're really good but just haven't got into that idea yet. My DH read the first couple and liked them, but I think he's got the last two to read.
