When do you start decorating for Christmas?

We usually don't decorate till after Thanksgiving, then it's pretty minimal. A tree and maybe a few other lights inside, some lights outside and maybe a wreath on the door. My cats love decorations to play with/chew on, so I have to be careful, and my dog has one of those tails like a whip that likes to knock everything over!

I like to get the outside stuff done before it snows. I missed this year, it's snowing now..... Oh, well, if the weather clears again, then we'll put up outside lights, otherwise, not.

Inside, I like to put the tree up Thanksgiving night, or at least that weekend, depending on if I wanna Black Friday shop or not. Often, the tree goes up a week or so before decorations make it up. We don't do a lot, but we do have a huge tree, a lovely bisque nativity and pretty Christmas china that we use thru the holiday.

We had an unseasonably warm day this past weekend, so DH put the outside lights up. We won't turn them on until after Thanksgiving, though. I know it's a bit early, but I don't blame him. I'd rather do it when it's sunny and semi-warm than be up on the roof with the wind and snow. The tree will be put up over the Thanksgiving weekend, too.
