We'd love to hear about it!

I just keep vowing that I'm going to start my Christmas shopping early. I think I actually bought one present for my boys so far.

What are you thinking about Christmas these days?

I do shopping all year long :) I've got a few things put away already, not a ton yet.

Yay, Melissa!! I need to put more of an effort into doing this. Every year I say that I'm going to make gifts this year and I end up in a last minute crunch.

I'm not that crafty, so never have to worry about making stuff. What types of things do you like to make for gifts?

I'm not all that crafty either but I like giving some of those brownies in a jar type of gifts or flavored olive oils. I'm always looking for new ideas to borrow though!

I usually start shopping sometime in October but I confess that around July of every year, I'm so ready for the holidays that the Yankee Candles come out. ;) I was burning "Sparkling Pine" by the middle of July! :D

Hmmm, is that the secret of Christmas in July? Making the house smell like Christmas? I think I have some Christmas scent candles around here some where. I might have to start using the senses to inspire me to get busy creating!

:D I love it! It's something about the smell of Fall or Christmas or the beach when it's so cold out and you want Summer to hurry up that always puts me in a good mood! :) However, I started to burn the autumn candles in hopes that Nov would hurry up for DH to come home but so far, no magical powers yet, it's still Aug. LOL

A few years ago, I was thinking about how in the winter I wished it was summer, in the summer, I wished it was winter and then I realized I was wishing my life away! Sheesh! So, I try to live in the moment - and just enjoy the a/c or a blanket if I need to.

In your case though, I sure hope November shows up quickly!! I know everybody appreciates all our soldiers do for our country and please send your DH a big thank you from me! But, how many people realize how much those left behind are dealing with? (Outside of iVillage anyhow!!) Thank you for keeping the home front warm for him. I hope he makes it home in time to help you welcome the little one into the world. I hope you have a wonderful local support system. That's the one bad thing about iVillage - I can't be there to watch the other 3 for you sometime you need it or help out in some other small way. Military Wives are the heart and soul of the military.

Thanks Wendy! :) It's funny because I do wish my life away about 6 months out of every year and than I want it to SLOW down! ;) At least time always moves! But in the meantime, I'm feeling like eating some peppermint bark ice cream! LOL
