Personally, I think those elves look a bit creepy.
We don't have an Elf on the Shelf, but we have an observation elf.
Hi there, We just started the Elf of the Shelf this year and my kids (3, 5 & 6) love it. They all still believe in Santa and it's been fun so far! The kids write notes to Santa and leave them in the elf's lap so he can bring them to Santa each night. If nothing else, I suppose it's encouraging their writing skills! ;)
We started this last Christmas when DD was 5 and DS was only 7 months. DS still isn't very interested this year at 18 months but DD (now 6) loves it! She waited all year long for "Freddy" to come back and loves looking for him every morning. Sadly, knowing that the Elf is watching her behavior and reporting back to Santa doesn't do much to improve her behavior. Ugh! She still has fun with it, though, and that's what is important to me. :)
Here Mrs. Santa wrote a letter explaining the elf and it came in a pepermint striped cloth sack bag.
So, what do you think about the Elf on the Shelf now? Is it helping with the kids behavior? Do they like having the Elf around?
