When is your fair?

The county fair where we live now is in mid-September. I've never been there.

The Ohio State Fair starts tomorrow. I've been looking at the calendar to decide if we are going to make the trip. It's hard to fit it in since the Hall of Fame stuff is going on here.

It's been a rough start for our fair. The first few days, it was rainy or there were thunderstorms. I think last night was the first semi-decent night to go. We have our wristbands, we just need to figure out what day/night.

Thanks, Cheryl! I wanted to go tonight, but the kids wanted to do this night out at the martial arts studio instead. I think we're going to try for Saturday.

My boys started TKD this summer. They are loving it. I am quite sure they would chose TKD over the fair, too.

I love TKD! I was forced to take classes when I was about 12 years old until I earned a certain color belt, so it ruined the whole experience for me. I wish now that I would have stayed with it. Ian just got his yellow belt and has been practicing his new form constantly. He loves it, and says he never wants to stop. The instructors are amazing, too.

How often are your boys going? Ian's on the twice-a-week plan, so Tuesday and Thursday evenings for 45 min. sessions.

The boys just started this summer. They are on a trial basis. They go 2 times per week. Over the summer they said we could pick any 2 of the 4 possible classes. At the last class the talk of contracts came up. If I got it correct them the boys have to commit to a M/W or T/Th class for the fall. There is a mixed make-up class offered on Saturdays. Now that I read every thing I have to check with the owner on that. We can't sign a contract for those sessions or we are going to be agreeing to wasting 1/2 of the money because D can't attend that schedule and stay on his football team. I *think* I can make that schedule work for J with his other commitments.

The boys know the skills to test for their first belt, but they cannot test until we sign a contract. The next testing session will be in October. I'm concerned that two more months of working on the same skills that they have mastered might get a tad bit boring...

Anyay, the boys are happy with TKD. DH and I like the instructor. DH and I need to get some things worked out before we make a long term commitment to the program.

Having the make up day on Saturdays would be nice. We don't have that option. I signed Ian up for fall ball, and I'm sure there will be a few conflicts. If he doesn't make his quota of classes, he won't be allowed to test. I think they require 10 classes, and if you miss out on two it's usually enough to lose out on a testing date.

I didn't see anything about a minimum number of days for testing.

The fall ball Ian is doing is baseball.
