At least my son who moved up to Boy Scouts will be accurately registered for camp since I paid his fee 2 weeks ago. And my daughter will be registered for camp since she is going by herself to a Girl Scout camp. No other parents have gotten their act together to register their daughters yet... and many camps are full or close to capacity.

Our Early Bird for WRC was Feb 15. We have 18 scouts / adults attending. We only have 3 Bears attending. A few more expressed interest this month, but the session is filled when we are going & the parents of these boys are not trained to take them to another session. I try telling people in January that you must register to hold a spot if you have even an inkiling that you are sending your child. They don't get it. WRC only has around 75 slots a session.

I went in to pay council the deposit and was surprised to find out that the $25.00 hold fee was for each person and was non-refundable. That was a new twist this year.

Camp Scholarships for all scout programs were due Mar 1 (1 1/2 months earlier than the past) at Council so we had to do them in Feb for the Pack. (Council requires the pack to match funds / submit forms).

April is all about getting day camp forms together. ugh.

I don't know how to get people to register early and to pay. I put $400.00 down on camp out of the pack checking. I still have a ton of money to collect from parents for the rest of the WRC payment due in May. I hope they come through on that & I don't end up having to be a bill collector.
