Weekend Camping Trip

Actually, it is a one night trip.  DH has access to the campsite tonight and is considering taking our boys down to set up and be ready when the rest of the pack arrives at 8:00am tomorrow.  Of course, there are storms and then rain showers in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow morning.  It happens every single time we have a fall campout.  Oh, the high is 65 tomorrow.

I picked up the supplies today.  We bought a propane coffee pot.  Those things are expensive.

The camp we are going to has a daylong program planned for the boys - dinner is included.  I'm looking forward to the trip :smileyhappy:

I understand what happened - ie low number of kids registering for the program & not enough adults to lead the program. I kinda wish they would have called and told us & we could have planned the day in a different way. Now we know, so we will either not repeat this trip or make modifications.

Sorry, that the weather is not co operating. It seems we get rain or super hot temps for campouts as well.

Some great memories, I bet.  However, not so cool to be expecting a cub program and end up having to do stuff not age appropriate.  Glad they got to dry out and enjoy some nice weather in the later parts of the day.

It rained until lunch. Most of the kids had parents who dressed them in an appropriate manner. The ones who were not dressed for the weather were miserable & ended up leaving.

NOTHING was planned for the Cubs. They ended up putting the Cubs into the Boy Scout Merit Badge rotations. That meant that most of the rotations were not appropriate or interesting. The boys sucked it up and pushed through the program. Once we got to free time they were in heaven. They were playing football, ladder golf, and whittling. We took a hike to the highest point in camp. The camp dinner was fantastic. I left after dinner to come home to take care of the dogs. They still had the campwide campfire program, dutch oven desserts, and a campfire at the campsite.
