I need a new shirt

I have had on my mind for some time that I'd like a shirt that says "Scout Leader" on it so I could wear it at functions where I'm with both the boys and the girls.  I hate to wear my hand-me-down Boy Scout leader shirt that doesn't quite fit and I don't want to wear the Cub Scout polo shirt because it is for neither the Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts, and I don't really have an official uniform for Girl Scouts either (navy blue business attire with white shirt and the official Girl Scout Adult scarf that's not cheap!).  For one, I've never worn a scarf except a winter one, and secondly, I wouldn't look like I belong with the Boy Scouts then.

It should be something that is half and half or appropriate to represent both sides- at least when it's not terribly important to dress completely in uniform.  Something for meetings/events/or some activity that's combined.  Has anyone ever seen something like this or have any other ideas?

I think it would be so much easier if the USA was like many of the countries where the scouting program was a single organization for both boys and girls who want to be scouts.

You could have one made--I think if you went to one of those tshirt places and have the words Scout Leader put on it would be good.  You could pick a color that might go with both organizations.  Green or khaki?

I wear a polo style shirt in the dri-wick material that is embroidered with day camp director for most of the distrcit functions (unless I am in street clothes). I really dislike the official uniform shirt for BSA. The shirt is so uncomfortable & such a lousy fit. I've heard the newest female cut is better, but I'm not buying another one until this one is in tatters.

I absolutely love the polo that I have from our cub scout group... it has a simple diamond shape with a wolf and a small flor de lis in the front corner with Pack XXX over and our city and town just under. It's very simple, but nice enough for occasions where I have to look dressed up and tough enough for being out and about or doing crafts or some physical activity. And it is SO comfortable. They really would sell a ton if they had something like that which was official for Boy Scouts for ladies rather than a button down shirt... but I do understand that tradition and not changing is what has kept the integrity of Boy Scouts and that same thing is what the Girl Scouts have not done and now people don't realize what a force Girl Scouts could be... in fact, Girl Scouts is coming out every year or half year with new fashion merchandise for different levels to wear. They have gotten kind of vain- in an attempt to be cool and draw in more girls based on looks alone... in my opinion.

I agree--not just in the clothing merchandise but in the whole program.  I think they only care about numbers and the actual program has suffered.

EXACTLY! It's such a shame that Girl Scouts could be so much more... it's not what Juliette Low envisioned and those who first started the organization envisioned. And it's not working for today's girls- maybe yes, in the Brownie level or so, but beyond that, the program is lacking, the leadership and training of adults is lacking, people talk and what they hear from those in the program is not good... and word of mouth does work... that's why the numbers are down so much...it's not a great program like it could be.
