It is meeting one day a month after school.  The kids are going to create a mural on canvas for display in one of the school hallways.

That sounds fun! We have a science club for grades 4-8 that is twice a month and is led by a parent who teaches at the local community college. Last year they took a field trip to her classroom to do an experiment with germs and hand washing and black lights and swabbing stuff back in their classrooms and growing the germs in little dishes. It was cool... they also planted a garden at school.

Isn't it great when a parent shares a passion with the kids?

The 3rd grade school teachers have asked the PTA if we could help them find some parents willing to help with putting a garden in at the school. I've always said that the school needs an outdoor learning lab, but I never wanted to take up the cause. This time I think there is a parent willing to make it happen. If she sticks with it then I am willing to jump on the bandwagon and do some of the work :smileyhappy:
