I'm looking for some good stories to tell around a campfire that are appropriate for ages 5-10.

The older girls of course want ghost stories but I don't need my Daisies having nightmares! :)

HELP! This is for Friday night

When my own kids and my scouts were little, I just made up stories. I'd first ask them to name 2 things they wanted in the story like a bluebird, a princess, and a rainbow. Then I just made up something. They loved it (and I'm not really good at stories... I just kinda twisted around stuff that was in real life and mixed in whatever they wanted.)

Or you could have them do that game where the next girl says the next part of the story and they make it up together. Or tell them to get into pair or 3's and make up a story to tell to the other little ones.

Hope that helps!

By the time we got back from our night hike, they just wanted to roast their marshmallows and go to bed. :) We managed to miss campfire stories.

The girls all had fun. I'm still recovering! LOL

Glad to hear they were tired and wanted to go to bed! That's a successful trip! I hope your "recovery" doesn't take too long so you'll want to go again soon!
