Question about cookie orders

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could help answer a question for me? My family lives in VA but my aunt in Pennsylvania would like to order GS cookies from my daughter's Brownie troop. Have any of you accepted a cookie order from someone who lives in another state before? How do shipping costs and such get handled? Or is this something best not to do at all?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

You sort of have to work that out between you.
I've sold to family out of town, and just held onto them until we saw them again at Easter or whatever.

That's exactly what we've done... sold to family in another state and just held onto them until we saw them... we either paid up front for them or had the family members send us a check in the mail. If your daughter's troop is "gift of caring" or for the soldiers or whatever, you can have them buy the cookies from your daughter, send the check, then never have to deliver the cookies to them because they would go with the rest your troop sold to the charity.

It's kinda a shame that GSUSA doesn't have some kind of thing to sell to those far away... I live in PA but have family in VA as well as many other places... it's very hard to sell to family when you don't get to see them much.

Thank you both for the replies! I have a feeling it would be more trouble than it's worth and I don't think we'll have an opportunity to deliver cookies to her anytime even remotely soon. I think I'll thank her for her generosity, then maybe point her to cookie sellers in her area.

Thanks again!

What area of PA is she in?

I know that our council GSWPA (Western PA) will have an online listing of where the booth sales will be once they are scheduled. Maybe that will help her?

Or like I said... if you are selling for the soldiers, she can easily help your daughter by purchasing cookies for the soldiers by only sending a check and you wouldn't have to deliver... and then she can get the ones she wants for herself by buying close to home?

Good Luck...

My sis-in-law is a leader in Camp Hill, PA... I'm not exactly sure where they meet though. Small world, huh?

Thank you ladies for your willingness to help out! My aunt lives in Hanover, PA (York County). But I think we may have found a solution to our delivery problem; another one of my aunts who lives near us travels up to Pennsylvania somewhat regularly, and said she'd be happy to deliver cookies for us. :)
