I need to gather supplies and put together kits for 50-80 girls to make a western type of swap at the father daughter dance on April 20th.

I'll have to think on the western theme. D's school just did the western thing for the father daughter dance. They ended up calling it Rhinestone Cowgirl.

How about the mustard seed verse from Matthew about moving mountains in you have the faith? Print the verse and add it to a little mini bag with a mustard seed in it. or you could print the verse on a mountain shape piece of cardstock an glue the seed to it.

I'm thinking of getting some leather (maybe like 1 inch squares) and borrowing some leather stamps from the boy scouts. I know they have used "western" themed ones at day camp. I sent an e-mail to see if I can borrow several stamps and some mallets. Then all that the girls would have to do is put a pin through it and attach a tag (something that would be like a computer printed label that says Father Daughter Hoe Down 2012.... maybe, maybe, maybe???

The stamping is a cute idea if the units will lend out their supplies. :)

I was trying tot hink of something with bandana material or twine made into a lasso of some sort, but I keep getting hung up on needing glue.

We've done glue in the past, but it's always rather messy to clean up and I just really don't feel like dealing with that... so I'm thinking this way... I'm going shopping today and hopefully will come up with enough leather at a cheap enough price. I could order "scrap" leather online, but I'm not real sure what I'd end up with. I'd rather pay a little more and see and feel it before I purchase it.

A lasso out of twine would be really cute? You could just get a few inches, wind it up into a circle and tie another piece through the loop to keep it together. Triangles made out of bandanna material with two corners tied together would work as well.
