Does this seem fair to you? Have you heard of this happening in your area?

http://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/girl-scout-troops-opening-first-ever-cookie-stores-185750.html

Not only do three or four troops (out of 100-200 in our county - which is only part of our council) get to have a non stop cookie booth. those troops have been singled out for local news coverage.

I understand that any troop could probably go out and do the same thing, but to me it just seems like well-off troops with connections becoming more well-off. It doesn't seem like a level playing ground in a county that is over run with GS troops and not enough booths to go around to begin with, with losing CVS and most Winn-Dixies this year.

Personally as a daisy troop we did most of our own sales in pre-orders and only doing one booth for experience. But I know troops that could really be hurt by this.

I see this exploding next year once everyone here gets wind of it, which will only encourage me further to push pre-order, something our county just started this year.

Seriously - if the GIRLS from that Troop are working all of those hours - I hope they do well.

It does concern me that one of the locations is a Junior troop.

According to my SU there is 4th store that may open even close to home for us. well have to see how it affects the regular booth sales.

I can't think of it messing up neighborhood sales.
