Kellie, I don't think you're being unreasonable at all! Things like this really should be run by the PTA president, especially when food is involved. Did the president before you have the same kind of problems with parents?

If she did, she didn't say. I've always run things by past presidents. And, for every organization I volunteer with, I always send stuff to the volunteer head before I send it out. It doesn't really matter anymore anyway. I resigned this morning. And the response I got was no one wanted me to leave.

Aw, that stinks that people just can't cooperate and act like they have some common sense. What's really frustrating is that you were volunteering your time to do all this, and people really *should* be coming together on their own. It's your time you're spending on efforts to improve the school. I really don't blame you for stepping down if it was turning out to be too much stress. I hope they remember this for the next person who volunteers their time to try to lead them. How long were you the pres.?

8 1/2 months. I was due to step down at the end of June, but this is better. DH and I will be moving in a few months (he's in the Army) and it's not just an easy move. We are having to move from Germany to California, which adds to the stress in my life. DH asked me if I really wanted the stress of the move AND the stress of dealing with people who weren't supporting me on the PTA. I decided no and to focus on my family. Best decision for me, maybe not the organization, but definitely for me.
