Hey and welcome to the board. I have two boys that I conceived using the Shettles method for boys, so two "successes" I really suggest you go to your local library or bookstore and pick the book up. It sounds like you are ready to conceive right now, but gathering as much info as you can now can help you be successful. As for the basics of ttc a boy, yes you DTD as close to O as possible, but not at the first sign on a OPK. That would still put you in girl time frame. You really need AT LEAST one month of results to know how long you will get a positive for on OPK, if you get one for 3 days, then DTD on the last day of positives, not the first. I did not use OPK with my first boy, but I charted my cycle for 3 months to understand my body signs when I O, to make sure I was as close to O as possible. He was conceived late afternoon on O day. With my second, I charted my cycle and used OPK for 4 months before we attempted to ttc. He was conceived at night on O day. I had got my first positive OPK the morning before. For sex selection, its recommended that you use OPK twice a day, if you are going to use them. So I had 4 positive (2 times a day for 2 days) OPK before we DTD. The next morning, OPK were negative. Read all the threads you find on here about boy attempts, they are all archived, so look pages and pages back. You will find lots of stuff on diet, sex position, and timing. Good luck and stick around, we'd love to have you.
