Hi! New here and in need of opinion

Hello! I'm new here though old member of the 2003 Junebug group. I have two sons 6 and 4 and we just started trying for number 3 (and last baby). I'm really hoping for a girl and we are trying the shettles method.
I'm sort of confused with my chart this cycle, I always O on CD 14 or 15 (I have 25day cycle and a 10 day luteal phase). This cycle we BDed on CD 10 and 11 but when I added this morning's temp fertility Friend put me on DPO 3 making CD 13 my O day.
I'm really hoping its wrong, all my signs make me certain that I Oed on CD 14. I really think my temps were higher because of the daylight saving time switch.
If its right then I'm really sad because with my second son we BDed 2days b/4 O so this time I wanted 3-4 days cutoff.

So thats my story, I'm looking forward to getting to know you all!

Dorothy

Welcome, good luck with the Shettles method. We have used it successfully for our two boys, and my SIL just had her first boy after two girls using Shettles too. I really think that if your CM data is reliable, its better to follow that than temps. Your theory on daylight savings time is probably correct.
Are you following all of the other girl recommendations from the book, like frequent BD and shallow penetration or just the cutoff?
Is this your first month ttc? Good luck and stick around, we would love to get to know you and see how your Shettles attempt turns out!

Hi Jina, Thanks for your reply.
After a few recorded temps FF switched my O day to CD14 that gives me a 3day cutoff which I'm happier with :)
Well, we bd-ed 2wice on CD10 and once CD11 and in the missionary style. DH was sick b/4. My CM wasn't too good this cycle, I usually have lots of fertile CM but this month I didn't, I felt really wet inside but not much when I wiped (sorry TMI) and this makes me less confident that DH's swimmers lasted till O.

Its my first month TTC but with both DSs I got pg at first trial :) Though I know timing them was easier. Its tough because I'm not very patient and I know to time a girl I need to be.

I'm at 8dpo now, AF should show on wednesday...hopefully she won't. Hopefully I won't go insane till then LOL

Well, Wednesday will be here before you know it. Good luck and keep us posted. I just noticed in your siggy that your youngest DS was born in May of 2005. My oldest DS was too!
We got pregnant the first month with our first, but it took us 6 months of ttc before we got pregnant with boy #2. Its really hard to be patient. I'm afraid that if we do ttc a girl, it will take forever if we try a 3 day cutoff. Or worse, that I may never get pregnant that way. I think what I would do is just try for a two day cutoff and see where that takes us. I honestly have no real preference this time and the idea of three boys just makes me so happy! That's why I'm not even sure that we would sway this next time....

Good luck holding out until Wednesday, and let us know!

I got my BFP yesterday! For now I'm just hoping the baby sticks then I'll start hoping its a girl :)

This is most likely my last pg so I want to enjoy every moment despite what the gender will turn out to be but ofcourse I'll be thinking pink until proven otherwise LOL

cheers

Congrats on your BFP!! Please stick around, I'd love to see the results of someone who just used Shettles method without added supplements and such.
Do you find out the gender ahead of time, or at birth?

Thanks Jina!

We'll find out as soon as possible :) I'm in Hungary and we get tons of U/S during pg. We found out with thing 2 at 14weeks! but normally it would be at 19weeks.

I will update when the time comes!

Welcome to the board Dorothy! I'm mom to three boys, ages 4, 2, and 5 months and I'll be TTC swaying for a girl next month. I'm glad you got your BFP and I hope you got your PINK.

It'll be great getting to know you and your little peanut!
