How can I tell if I'm ovulating?

AF came today, officially ending my 2nd cycle of TTC. I'm a little disappointed, but not upset. However, I was looking over my charts and started wondering a little. They're just so hard to read, even FF can't usually figure them out (of my last 4 cycles, it's been sure of 1 O day, unsure of 2, and not even willing to guess on the last one). I've been assuming my signs are just funky, but how can you tell if you're even ovulating? My understanding is that AF can still come during anovulatory cycles, so how do you know for sure?

Please don't think I'm panicking about fertility or anything. I know these things take time, even when you're BDing as close to O as possible, and 2-3 cycles is nothing. But I have been frustrated by conflicting signs that make GD even harder. What do you think?
