I really don't know much about it! I'm pretty sure Jessikah and Sara both have it down though so I hope they'll weigh in. If I remember correctly the cervix is normally hard and high, but when you ovulate it lowers and it softens - maybe?? Again, you'll have to see what they say since I'm not sure.

Do you have the book, "Taking Charge of your Fertility" it is an amazing book and explains a lot in there.

Here is a good link however.

That is also where you need to get your cm when you are testing ph for that.

Thanks for the link, I just called my library and am going to pick up TCOYF tomorrow. This is the first time that I have ever tested my pH, so while I am aware of where my cervix is, I didn't realize it changed so much. It did seem to change over the last week since I have been testing pH.

I have another question about CM pH for you. I get the same reading no matter if I test the CM that ends up in my underwear, the stuff at the base, or the stuff I actually grab from the cervix. Has this ever happened to anyone here? I have been consistently between 5 and 5.75 from the time I started testing it on cycle day 6 all the way through today, cycle day 15, and I O'd yesterday.

I always just got the cm from my cervix. So not sure as on in gender I read from anywhere else is not accurate. I also had the digital tester so it told me right away. I would just put cm on a qtip then test on the bulb of the tester.

You will love the TCOYF book. SO much about charting, your cycle, etc.

Thank you, I had no idea this was on ivillage. How awesome. I did check out Taking charge on your fertility from the library on Wednesday, and I love it, I am almost done with the whole thing already!
