I think the Chinese Gender is crap. Did you ever get your positive OPK surge? It's too late for my advice, but boys run on both sides and we had one. I would chart when I thought I would O and then DTD that day. I'd do it every other day after that day as well just in case. It was usually missionary and I let everything set in for 20 mins. I didn't O at all because I was afraid that would gush everything out. I also drank lots of coffee - starbucks daily. So, since I'm TTC a girl, I have given up caffeine in beverage form.
Message me privately if you'd like to join our March FB Group. :)

I've never ttc a boy, although had 3 of them. When I was ttc a girl, I used the opk in the afternoon and evening. I didn't want to miss it. The line has to be as dark or darker the control line. I got a lot of info from in-gender. com and the support here is great too. TMI, have the big "o' right after DH, then remain laying in bed for 20 mins.

Hi citylife :) I'll do my best to answer your questions!

Do you have the Fertility Monitor or normal OPK sticks? Generally you want to test in the early afternoon, but the monitor is the exception to that. I've seen some members test both in the morning and afternoon to make sure they don't miss the LH surge.

The test line should be as dark as or darker than the control line. If it's as dark as the control line, I would consider it a positive.

I would try to BD as soon as you can, because you want the sperm waiting there for the egg. The egg is released around 12-48 hours after the LH surge is detected, so you don't want to miss it. You could try to wait a few hours to get it closer, or keep testing to see how the line is changing.

I've never heard of the baking soda idea, I'm assuming it's to make it more alkaline? I don't know if doing it right before would have any affect.
