Appointment Update!

Hi girls, I went for my annual checkup this am. The office was backed up over an hour, I thought I'd never get out of there! Ugh! :)

I got a refill for my pill, even though I'm still feeling a little unsure about continuing to take it. S 100% wants me to stop taking it now. The doctor recommended staying on the same bcp for now, since all other types will give me the same side affects and since we will ttc within the

That's good, E! It sounds like you got your answers! DH once told me he wanted a first child before he turned 40, but now he is 42 and we haven't started yet! We had to focus on our finances and our move, and I am glad we did. It sounds like you need a little more time!

Well this hubby of mine is quite convincing! I refilled my bcp today, but might not take them! I have 4 days left on my last pack.

We leaning towards semi-NTNP now. I say "semi" because S would use the stand by "pull and pray" method until we were 100% ready to actively try. We might actively TTC in Dec, Jan, Feb, or March.

S has very clearly expressed that he doesn't want to be having babies past 41-42. He's 38 now. He has very strong feelings about his age and children, especially since he already has two who are now 6 and 9. I have to respect his feelings and take them into account in our plans.

We're married and we want a family together. I'll never feel 100% ready. S thinks I'm responsible and ready and will be a wonderful mom. We'd love a house and 2 new cars and more money in the bank, but circumstances will never be perfect right?

S pointed out to me tonight that we're doing everything right in life. We have a really great marriage, we love each other, we have supportive families, we're healthy, we're responsible, we work hard, we have

It sounds like you have much more peace over all of it than you did last week.

Yay, E! It sounds like your hubby's baby fever is quite strong! More money would be nice, but you will have nine more months to save before the baby is born!

Jules - I like the way you worded that: "more at peace."

It really is strong! His age is a very serious factor for him. He has strong feelings about not having kids after 41/42 and I need to respect that. I could wait longer with my age, but it's not just about me! Marriage is a compromise right?

He also reminds me that we're a team, and we'll get through everything in life together. So if our savings aren't huge and we don't have a house yet, etc. oh well! We are making it through life just fine so far and we will continue to!

I am the same way: I tend to overthink then freak out! I am learning that it is too stressful and letting it go a bit.

DH says the same thing: he is happy we have no debt although I feel we don't have enough saved and it stresses me out...Hopefully everything will work out for the best!

So this is where things stand for me: I'm stopping birth control, but we're not actively TTC just yet. Today is my first day off the pill, and the first day I took prenatal vitamins instead of my usual multi. I might alternate between prenatal and multi at first because I don't want to waste the multis I have! I'm waiting to hear back from my gyno (had appt. Monday the 31st) about my pap smear and test for rubella immunity. I have scheduled a long overdue dentist appointment for Nov. 17th. I bought a BBT thermometer, signed up for fertility friend and have purchased and started reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility. I might not start temping right away, but I am curious about it. I'm just waiting to get my first period post birth control and am anxious to learn about my cycles (how long are they? am I ovulating? etc).

I feel pretty zen about it all. My job is not perfect, my money is not perfect, blah blah blah. :) I'm healthy, I'm a responsible adult, I love my husband, we want kids .... bring it on! Discussed actively TTCing maybe in January ... but we'll see what really happens the first time we have sex!

oooooooh, I hope we both start trying in Jan! That would be so exciting to go through it together! Especially since it would be a first for both of us, we both have similar goals financially, we both have age gaps with our husbands! :) Lets do it! ;)

It's so weird being off the pill but not trying .... I expected something more to happen, but nothing has happened. Its just life as usual with no pill to take at 830 each night! I wonder how long it will take to get my first period though ... hopefully not months!

What does your DH think of January? Any talks yet?
