Men need a sperm valve on their junk.

I have decided that I am so sick of worrying about birth control that I could scream in fury!! Condoms and spermicide gel are SO not sexy in the moment, condoms are often uncomfortable or just decrease the sensation, and being on BC kills my sex drive. A girl just can't win!
Someone needs to invent some sort of implant that allows men to twist a little knob or flip a switch on their genitals and cut off the flow of sperm in their semen. Dam up the river, dude, your wife doesn't want to get knocked up again yet!
Okay, sorry for being so crude. I'm done. Maybe this should've been in the rants section :-P

Lol, I totally agree!!!
However, in lieu of that, I am finding I really like my IUD. No pills to remember, no hormones to make me miserable, and no icky icky condoms!

You're in luck ladies, scientists here in Australia are actually working on it!!!

Pitty it's a number of years off.
I just have to add my whole-hearted agreement:).
I now realize that BCPs were killing my sex drive and DH and I are currently using condoms and spermicidal foam (sigh) until we're ready to TTC. I've just started charting, but I'm not confident enough yet to use it for BC. I think that I will use an IUD between children and until (in the future) we're ready to permanantly shut off DH's "valve";).
It is an interesting social phenomenon, though, that most forms of birth control (particularly the more invasive ones), are directed at women. There's an intresting chart illustrating this in the intro to TCOYF - and juxtaposing this with the fact that women are only fertile a couple days a month, whereas men are fertile EVERY DAY!

Kerryl, you just MADE MY DAY!
I'm sure that technology is far off, but at least there's hope for the next generation :-D
ITA with the other post that said it's interesting (and rather ridiculous) that women are usually in charge of BC methods even though they are only fertile for a couple of days at a time. I never thought about it that way, especially the fact that the most invasive methods are directed at women!
...I did hear a few months ago about the male BC pill being in preliminary testing this year. I'd love to see that go on the market sometime in the next 10 years! Although....I'm not sure if I'd even trust my very responsible DH to take a pill every day....lol.

I totally agree! It makes me SO MAD that the woman in most relationships is required to carry the burden of BC. That's part of the reason I'm off of mine now. They made me feel awful &
