I didnt do an official prenatal (OTC or Rx) because they made me feel funky. So I just took a regular womens multivitamin and extra folic acid and then an iron tablet every other day...I was terrible at remembering though but the next go around, I'm definitely going to make a better effort.
That's good, Jules! I haven't talked about this with my doctor...Right now, I take a multi, vitamins C, D, E and B complex, plus I eat lots of fruits and veggies. I believe my folic acid dose is 400 mcg in my multi.
I expect to just get them OTC. I am currently taking a regular multivitamin called VitaFusion MultiVites, which are like chewy gummy bears! They are delicious. I noticed at the store that they had a prenatal too, so I will probably switch to those when we start TTC.
I just switched from a regular multi vitamin to prenatal vits...I needed more iron which they had more of and it doesn't hurt to take them when you're of 'child bearing age." Right now I am just taking Target brand (Up&Up)...they're super cheap! I might switch to a more expensive one when we start TTC..but for now we're on a budget :)
I take an OTC prenatal now.

I take a liquid iron supplement when I have my periods, so I will probably take it during PG too.
