Well, I'll start with the explanations. :)

I voted other because our situation is going to be a combo of sorts. As much as I really think I would love to be a SAHM it just isn't in the cards for us if we want to TTC in the next 5 years. As of right now we plan to use a day care of some sort, probably a church related day care and DH will be home. With DH in college right now he will be a full time student and then the semi stay at home daddy. I get to play bread winner. So when DH and I are both away from home (work and school) we will use a day care provider of some sort and then during the other times DH or I will be with our LO.

The ideal situation, as I can see it right now, would be if I could work at home as a freelance writer, and go out during evenings as necessary, when DH is home.

If I can't get as much freelance work as I'd like, I'd like to work part-time at a day job and put the baby in a home-based daycare. I think they tend to be less expensive and are more personal and family-like.

I don't think I'd want to be a SAHM full-time; I think I'll be happier if I can get out of the house each day. But the idea of having the baby in daycare full-time makes me sad. Also, with how expensive daycare is, all of my paycheck would be going to daycare anyway (at least the way things are now.)

I voted SAHM because that is what I would like to be. I do think that I may get bored once the kids are older, so I'm researching work at home opportunities.

I vote nanny...there is no way we can afford one on our own...probably ever here in Orange County or for that matter anywhere, but my sister and I will probably share one. We live a couple of blocks from each other, which is so fun because I get to see my little nephew all of the time!

I voted SAHM. That is what I will be doing and then once the child is here I will evaluate if I want to go back to work one or two days a week for my health and sanity. I think once all children have reach school age I will definitely go back to at least 20-25 hours a week and before that we will just have to see how I feel about it:)

I also voted nanny, but it will be more like nanny share, which is very common around here.

I voted other because it's so far in the future it's hard to say for certain.

The plan, aside from TTC, after we get married is also to become foster parents and should that work out I will stay home or work PT probably doing consulting based around the needs to the children we decide to FP. We're still not sure what type of foster parenting we'd like to get into - high needs, teens, etc.
