Anybody going to see the new Star Wars movie this weekend? Or have already seen it? For those who haven't seen it, I shall provide you with my own commentary on it this weekend, as DH and I will be spending Saturday afternoon in line for it. :) I figure we'll probably get in line around noon and be through the line and the 2.5 hr-long movie by 10 pm, tops! JK I hope its good!

Sorry Jessie,

I'm just not there with you. I LOVED the originals, but can't get into the prequels. Just not my thing. I have watched the original trilogy probably 20 times, and even wanted to name my first born Luke. But keep me posted. Maybe you'll inspire me to see the new ones!!

I'm going tomorrow afternoon with my family. I'm not gung-ho about it, but I figure I've seen the first two episodes and the original trilogy, so I might as well see this one.

I haven't watched any of the new ones, but my DH and his cousin went to the midnight show on Wednesday. He didn't seem too impressed with it; said it was okay....I'd rather get my sleep - hee!

My "official" review: Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith

Much darker than I anticipated it to be. Lots of evil stuff, you see the good guys get killed by triators, and you see how Anikin Skywalker goes to the "Dark Side." It's all very interesting but I definitely wouldn't take young ones to this even though it's Star Wars. There's some pretty disturbing stuff, IMO. They may have Star Wars toys at the grocery store, but the movie's PG-13 for a reason.

I agree with Kristin, some of the dialogue was corny, but I think, that's how the originals were. They're supposed to be kind of campy, not all too serious. If anything has been the downfall of the 3 prequels, it's been taking themselves too seriously. :) My fave line from the movie: Padme coos in Anikins ear as they are embracing, "Hold me like you did by the lake on Naboo." LOL LOL LOL That's my new line with dh when I want a little lovin! I love how cheesy Star Wars can be.

All in all, I liked it. Two thumbs up, like how Ebert & Roper do. I thought they tied things up pretty well, and it was great to see details of why Anikin goes bad. The special effects were great, and I just loved seeing the end of an era. It was a great way to spend the afternoon. I hope you all go see it!
